Vineyard History
Last Sunday, in preparation for this weeks visit from Vineyard leaders Larry Levy and Rik Berry, I shared a brief history of the Vineyard Movement. I was first exposed to the Vineyard at a Church Growth Leadership and the Kingdom of God in the 90s conference back in the summer of 1985. I remember two things from that event, the worship was outstanding and John Wimber was real. I was significantly impressed with his willingness to not only share his successes but also his failures. Its easy to trust a leader who is willing to humbly own his mistakes so others can learn from them. Over the years Ive served Vineyard churches in Washington, New York and now on PEI. For me, the Vineyard is like a pair of comfortable shoes or custom made gloves. It just fits. Im excited to see what the future hold for Vineyard Canada, especially here in the Atlantic Region. If youre interested in learning more about the Vineyard, please join us this Sunday, 10:00 AM at the Farm Centre. Also, you can find more information about the Vineyard at www.vineyard.ca and www. vineayrdusa.org. Or check out these two videos:

Remembering Gods Blessings

Psalm 9:1-2 1 I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart ; I will tell of allYour wonders. 2 I will be glad and exult inYou; I will sing praise toYour name, O Most High. We are given amazing privileges when we trust in Jesus. Recalling these promises is a good way to maintain a thankful heart, even when facing challenges in other areas. Consider four such blessings: Christs gift of salvation. No matter what trial were facing, it is microscopic next to the enormity of Jesus sacrifice on our behalf. The cross was a steep price to pay, but the Savior willingly took our place in order to offer us forgiveness and eternal life. Assurance of Gods love. The Lord cares for us unconditionallythat is His very character (1 John 4:16). Unfortunately, the storms of life can cause us to question this, but Romans 8:31 39 unequivocally tells us that nothing can separate us from Gods love. Answered prayer. We have the awesome privilege of talking to the Father about anything burdening usand He never grows tired of listening to His children. Our omnipotent, omniscient God is not only able to help us in any situation; He also knows the best possible way to do so. A personalized plan. The Lord has a will, plan, and purpose for our lives that He will accomplish if we obey Him. No one is exempt from adversity, but we can trust God to bring good from everything He permits to come our way. Hardships, temptations, and tests will touch us all, but the Lord allows difficulty for a reasoneven when we dont understand why (Rom. 8:28). Therefore, submit yourself to the Father, thank Him for His wisdom, and be confident that He will accomplish His purposes for you.

I was regretting the past and fearing the future. Suddenly God was speaking: My name is I am. I waited and God continued: When you live in the past, with its mistakes and regrets, it is hard. I am not there. My name is not I was. When you live in the future, with its problems and fears, it is hard. I am not there. My name is not I will be. When you live in this moment, it is not hard. I am here. My name is I AM.
