Fix release 12.0.SP6.9 introduced a new (optional) mechanism for handling line thicknesses so that precise User Defined linestyle width are passed to export formats such as PDF and standard DXF. Clarification: Please note that User Defined linestyles are those defined in the database as LINEST elements under a style world. System Defined linestyle widths (THIN, MEDIUM, THICK) are unaffected. User Defined linestyle widths in .PLT files are also unaffected. The Minimum Line Width (MINLW) parameter remains on the PML Plot Sheet form, which is used for producing export formats as well as plot files. The user can configure this in the file PDMSUI/dflts/plotter_user_defaults (default 0.22mm), as at present. However this determines both the meaning of THIN for System linestyles and the minimum User Defined linestyle width. As a result, in order to achieve thinner User Defined linestyles, the value of MINLW must be reduced by the user. *PLEASE NOTE* that this will ALSO affect the width of the THIN System linestyle (the default in DRAFT). A similar issue exists when producing export formats via the PLOT command. The MINLW is a parameter to the command. If unset it will default to 0.2mm (it is unaffected by the plotter_user_defaults file). Therefore, the user should not create User Defined linestyles with widths less than the value that they pass to the PLOT command (either using the UI or the command). If the user lowers this value in order to switch on the environment variable and achieve thinner precise user defined line widths, this will also lower the width of the THIN DRAFT system linestyle (e.g. SOLID). For consistency it is recommended that the plotter_user_defaults file reflects the same value of MINLW that is passed to any macros that use the PLOT command. At PDMS 12.1 the link between MINLW and user defined linestyles will be removed, thereby removing the need to affect the THIN DRAFT system linestyle when using thinner user defined linestyles. However this is not available at 12.0
