PATCH INSTALLATION NOTES It has been determined that some IPL T Series products in the field may have difficulty updating to the latest firmware without applying the supplied firmware patch. The patch, applicable to firmware versions prior to 1.06, is distributed via the software download from the Extron web site and loaded into a standardized location on your computer using a Windows installer application. The specific file for this patch is named 503468v101.s19. After running the software setup, follow the directions below to ensure a proper update to your existing product. IPL T Series patch loading instructions: 1. Verifying Product Candidacy The supplied patch is designed to work with factory installed firmware versions 1.00 through 1.04 on the IPL T products listed above. In order to verify your product is a candidate follow these steps: a. Telnet to the product you want to update using Start>Run>telnet x.x.x.x where x.x.x.x is the ip address you previously assigned to the IPL T product. b. Issue the SIS command: I This will return the product name that can be checked against the list of affected products above. c. Issue the SIS command: 3Q This will return the factory installed firmware version in the format x.yy which needs to be between 1.00 and 1.04 for this patch to work.

2. Applying the Patch Using Internet Explorer, browse to the IPL T built-in web page using: http://x.x.x.x/nortxe_index.html where x.x.x.x is the same ip address as used above. Select the Configuration tab and then the firmware upgrade from the left side menu as seen below. Next, browse to the directory specified in the setup (the default location is C:\Program Files\Extron\Firmware\IPL_T_Series\Patch), select the patch file (503468v101.s19), and then click upload to initiate the process.

Verify patch - In order to verify the patch is applied to your box, telnet into it again (see step #1 for details) and issue the SIS command: *Q This will return the firmware version number that is running in the following format: x.yy.zzzz where x.yy should be the same as you saw in step 1C above (if you dont remember you can perform step 1C again at this point) and zzzz should display as 0000 (all zeros). Note: If telnet does not connect right away, this is ok since it takes time for the patch to finish and reboot the box. It may take up to 2 minutes before a connection can be made. 4. Upgrade Firmware - Now you are ready to load the current version of firmware. Follow the same process as in step #2 above. Browse to the directory specified in the setup (the default location is C:\Program Files\Extron\Firmware\IPL_T_Series\), select the firmware file (IPL_T_Series_19_1364_50_V1_xx.s19, where xx is the minor version number), and then click upload to initiate the process. 5. Verify update - Verifying the success of the firmware upgrade can be done via the web browser by clicking the Status tab and checking that the version reads 1.xx (where xx is the minor version number). As in step #3, it may take time for the firmware to load and initialize so the web page may not return right away. This is not a problem, just wait 30-45 seconds and try the Status tab again. You can now close the browser or repeat the previous five steps on additional IPL T Series products that need updating.
