1 What is difference between selling and marketing concept? SELLING CONCEPT:


1. Emphasis is on the product. 2. Company manufactures the product first. 3. Management is sales volume oriented. 4. Planning is short-run-oriented in terms of todays products and markets. 5. Stresses needs of seller. 6. Views business as a good producing process. 7. Emphasis on staying with existing technology and reducing costs. 8. Different departments work as in a highly separate water tight compartments 9. Cost determines Price. 10. Selling views customer as a last link in business.

Marketing concept:
1. Emphasis on consumer needs want 2. Company first determines customers needs and wants and then decides out how to deliver a product to satisfy these wants 3. Management is profit oriented 4. Planning is long-run-oriented in todays products and terms of new products, tomorrows markets and future growth 5. Stresses needs and wants of buyers 6. Views business as consumer producing process satisfying process 7. Emphasis on innovation on every existing technology and reducing every sphere, on providing better costs value to the customer by adopting a superior technology 8. All departments of the business integrated manner, the sole purpose being generation of consumer satisfaction 9. Consumer determine price, price determines cost 10. Marketing views the customer last link in business as the very purpose of the business

What is the difference between production concept and Marketing? Production concept:
1. This is one of the oldest concepts that suggest the consumer will like to buy the product which are available easily, cheaply and widely. 2. Production concept is based on product and is finalized version of the product. 3. Production concepts are the ideas that a firm focus on product that is able to produce more efficiently. 4. In production concept management should focus on improving production and distribution efficiency. 5. Production concepts are useful in two situations.
a) When demand for a product exceeds the supply. b) When product cost is high and improved productivity is needed to bring it down.

6. Production concept just wants to have something to sell. 7. Make the prices reasonable. 8. Have it in abundance. 9. They take customers for granted. 10.They just see customer convenience so that they can buy.

Marketing concept:
1. First see what the need of customer is. 2. To research the best ways to satisfy the customer. 3. To provide the best thing than competitor. 4. They will lead to customer focus and profit. 5. What is difference between Marketing and Product? Product concept:


1. These concepts suggest that consumer will go for those product which offer quality, utility, features, performance, value, benefit. 2. Product concepts involve the four major Ps of marketing i.e. Positioning, pricing, packing and placement. 3. A product concept is more or less similar to the marketing concept as it involves production of a product as conceived by the user. 4. In product concept management should focus o continuous product improvement. 5. Product concepts can lead to marketing myopia. 6. In production concept businesses just want to produce goods. 7. It concept also wants to improve the quality of the goods produced. 8. To earn profit. 9. Centered make and sell philosophy. 10.Centered and respond philosophy.

1. The societal concept is an offshoot of the marketing concept. 2. Giving back providing a helpful hand. 3. Societal marketing concept calls upon the marketers to build social consideration into their marketing practices. 4. Company orientation towards the market place 5. To provide better products for the society welfare. 6. To satisfy the consumer need and want at the consumer expense. 7. The societal concept is an offshoot of the marketing concept. 8.
