ITINERARY DAY 1 ARRIVE AUCKLAND Upon arrival at the Airport, transfer to the hotel by shuttle van. Accommodation: TOURIST SCENIC HOTEL AUCKLAND CITY or similar FIRST SKY CITY HOTEL or similar AUCKLAND / MATAMATA (Dinner) InterCity Coach from Auckland to Matamata Depart Auckland and travel south towards the Bombay Hills before continuing into New Zealands largest dairy farming province, the Waikato. Following the waikato River to the city of Hamilton. Travel from Hamilton your journey continues via the rural township of Morrinsville then on to Matamata. At Matamata Information Centre pick-up by the Farm Host and transfer to the Farm. Dinner is served at the Farm with Farm Host. Accommodation: FARMSTAY AT MATAMATA AREA (DBB Basis) MATAMATA / ROTORUA (Breakfast) Breakfast is served at the Farm with Farm Host. Farm host will drop off passengers at the Matamata Intercity Coach Depot. On board the Intercity Coach from Matamata to Rotorua. Climb the Mamaku Ranges before descending down into the Rotorua Lakes region. Upon arrival in Rotorua transfer to the hotel by shuttle van.. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Great Sights Full Day Tour with Hobbiton Movie Set Tour GS39H exclude lunch (seat-in-coach tour 0725/1800) Begin the day with a morning sightseeing tour around three of Rotorua's iconic visitor attractions. Experience Te Puia, a place of Maori culture and a thermal wonderland of impressive geysers and boiling mud pools. Explore Rainbow Springs Nature Park, which showcases native flora and fauna as well as the New Zealand Kiwi. Then see NZ's agricultural industry in action with a sheep shearing display and sheep dog trials at the Agrodome. Follwoing the show you will transfer onto the Hobbiton Movie Set coach tour and enjoy a scenic drive across the Kaimai Ranges to the picturesque 1,250 acre farm near Matamata where scenes from the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies were filmed. Learn how this beautiful farmland was transformed into The Shire from Middle-earth. Your guide will show you Hobbit holes, the Green Dragon Inn, the Mill and many other structures from the movies. Upon completion of the Hobbiton Movie Set tour you will be transferred back to Rotorua.

The tour culminates with a boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto lit up by thousands of tiny living lights. Re-board the coach and travel through to Auckland.
