Dear Colleagues, It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Metro South Health's new clinical stream

leaders and sub-stream leaders. Following the Community and Primary Health Services Review of Alignment to Metro South Health Priorities conducted in October 2012, I endorsed a realignment of the organisation's structure to create eight new clinical streams of care. The clinical streams are being created to improve the integration of services across Metro South Health through innovation and clinical redesign. Following an expression of interest process, I have appointed seven stream leaders and 17 substream leaders to oversee these new streams (in addition to the leadership of the existing Mental Health stream). I encourage you to view a list of your new clinical stream leaders at the following QHEPS page: http://qheps.health.qld.gov.au/metrosouth/reform/streams.htm The stream leaders will have a number of responsibilities including strategic leadership and planning; improving quality and safety to ensure the best patient care; overseeing research and development activities; stakeholder engagement; and facilitating devolution of some budget responsibilities and delegations to enable future accountability for overall management of the stream. An overview of these responsibilities is also available via the link provided above. I am confident that each leader's clinical experience and expertise and will ensure Metro South Health is well placed to deliver quality and efficient health services into the future. I extend my congratulations to each of the new stream leaders and sub-stream leaders and ask that all staff work with them as required to improve service integration and ultimately, the quality of care that we provide to our patients.
