Project - Life
Brief
Project Life is a dream project for Medical Students Association of India or popularly known as IFMSA India. This project has been adopted as the official project for IFMSA-India for the 2013 for a simple reason which is to save the life of our loved ones. It could save you, your sister, brother, mother, dad, grandmother, grandfather, nephew, niece, boyfriend or girlfriend. With just one organ donor, 8 others would survive to breath for one more day.

Introduction In India the awareness for organ donation is very less or we could safely say not given importance. However, on the other hand, the need for of organ is very much higher. That simply means in mathematical term is demand is higher than supply. It is estimated over 100,000 people have been diagnosed with kidney failure and needing a transplantation, however only 2500 of them are fortunate to get the transplantation. The same is the ratio or even worst for those who are in need of eye and other organs. India has approximately 1/7th of population of the world after China and we Indians are known to be one of the most passionate folks around the world. We are known for our culture, for our values but when it comes to organ donation, we are also known to be one of the least educated or least interested in it. It is also important for you to know that when IFMSA-India conducted a one day survey, we understood that there are many people around the country wanting to donate organ but they just dont know how or where to donate. We at IFMSA India decided to adopt this project not only to give the necessary awareness that is required but also to actually give a chance for you to save the life of somebodys mom, dad, sister, brother or friends. Isnt that blessing for your family when you could save a life? Or what if you need an organ and you are on a waiting list of 100,000 and you didnt get it in time? Its scary to think about it and we need to change this, we believe with you we can change this. Lets do it for you and loved ones!
