Introduction

1.1

Objectives
ARBROS is seeking to partner with a systems integrator who can assist ARBROS in the
deployment of several replacement systems and in the integration of the OSS. The ARBROS
environment consists of current OSS COTS packages that must be integrated into both EAI
architecture and several new OSS COTS components. It also consists of a marketing web server as
well as an internal corporate information management system (the ARBROS Intranet).
For our selection, we are considering the follow characteristics:
o First and foremost, the systems integrator must present broad experience with integrating
and deploying in an existing production environment. This integrator will provide the
foundation for future integration work, assist in plans for the OSS phases and timelines, as
well as provide the expertise as we move forward with OSS package evaluations.
o Second, a systems integrator who has significant experience with applications such as
Vitria/Tibco, Wisor/MetaSolv, Granite/MetaSolv, and DSET/Quintessent. The integrator
will have extensive experience in implementing business processes, which have used these
applications in combination with an EAI package.
o Third, a systems integrator who is willing and able to work with ARBROS resources as
well as other systems integrators as the need for particular expertise arises.
o Finally, a systems integrator who brings with them a strong technical and functional team
experienced in OSS integrations and with the various packages mentioned above.
ARBROS plans to phase its OSS integration deployment similar to the implementation timeline
below. The phases are broken into four components, i.e., Assessment, Phase I, Phase II, and Phase
III per the timeline below.
Note: The assessment phase will help develop the overall integration road map and is included as a
prerequisite to the first three phases.
