Partners in Mission
This Sunday (3rd February) sees the launch of the Salvation Armys Self Denial Appeal. A time for us, over the coming weeks, to consider what we can deny ourselves in order to help those who work for God in many other countries. We will be able to think about what many people in our world havent got and all the things we have that we so often take for granted. So this year, how much can we raise ...To uplift our brothers and sisters who go out in Gods name in Ghana? To help those Salvationists in that country who work with children in schools and young and old alike in health clinics that the love of God will shine through their lives and our giving will help them to carry on their vital work. ...To share in a vibrant mission in Mozambique? Where millions live in poverty, yet where Salvationists serve God in that destitution. Our giving will assist in the opening of a new corps so that the mission there can be strengthened. ...To protect those who are vulnerable in Pakistan? Our brothers and sisters continue to reach out to meet the human needs of many even in this time of on-going national unrest. Our giving could help to improve security sand safety for our Salvation Army buildings and personnel. ...To support girls and women to safety in South America East? In San Lorenzo, Paraguay, our partners are finding ways to help women escape violence in the home. Our giving could help to fund a camp where more girls and women will have the opportunity to gain strength and guidance away from their abusive situations. So what will you deny yourself so that you can help others? Perhaps something that we have every day which to so many would be a luxury. The money we could save by denying ourselves could be given over to God and would assist our partners in mission to continue the work of heart to God and hand to man across the world.
