County 4-Hers and Cloverbuds
signed up to give presentations
and over 60 actually gave
exceptional performances at their
Annual Public Presentations
event held on Saturday, January
31st at the Cuba Catholic
Church, Our Lady of the Angels.
Each participant gave
an illustrated talk in front of 2
judges, 1 teen judge and a small
audience. Their performance was
Dawson Sloat•Bradley Pacer then evaluated in these areas;
appearance, voice and posture;
subject matter, topic and information; and presentation. Some
of the aspects of presentation included equipment, charts,
grammar and organization.
The Allegany County 4-H program serves over 300 youth
from all over the county. It is strongly supported by teen and
adult volunteers, which are the backbone of the 4-H program.
Community volunteers and friends of 4-H from around the
county, some from outside the county assisted with the 2009
Public Presentations. Here is a list of those we are extremely
grateful for; Kathleen MacDonald, Dawn Santangelo, Linda
Edwards, Dave Edwards, Debbie Thompson, Israel Falcone,
Sarah Falcone, Francine Forrest, Billy Murphy, Rick and Amie
Jozwiak, Justin Harmon, Jim Keough, Lisa Wuersig, Heather
Hale and Brittany Warner.
The contestants chosen for the Evie Karn Memorial are
senior members Michael Jefferds, Hannah Lewis, Elizabeth
Falcone, Kaleb Lewis, Tara Cline, Johanna Carls and Emily
Beiler. The Junior members chosen were, Andrew Weigman,
Alyssa Santangelo, Rachel Beiler, Allison Adams, Eryn
