Instructions 1. Read "Sailing with the Explorers", pages 4-5. The books are in the blue bin on Mrs. Steven's SMARTBoard table. 2. Imagine you are a member of a family living in England in 1497 and you have heard that John Cabot has been sent to find a trade route to India. 3. Reread "Pricey Pepper" on page 5 and use information from this section to help you complete one of the following options on your laptop(s): A) independent option: a one-page diary entry B) small group option: a one- or two-page script for a family dinner conversation that you will write, rehearse, and perform TOGETHER 4. Your diary entry or script should describe in realistic detail why you are hoping that John Cabot will come back with precious spices, or at least a safer and faster route to get spices.
