Most of the time, when individuals become leaders, they tend to exercise authority upon others. This traditional leadership generally involves the accumulation and exercise of power by one at the top of the pyramid. Though the phrase Servant Leadership may look bit uncommon, it was coined by Robert K. Greenleaf in The Servant as Leader, an essay that he first published in 1970. If you see people as a means to serve you, then you are not a servant leader. I would call you a manager or simply a boss. If you view your role as a leader to empower others to become better at what they do, to achieve greater levels of skill and ability, and become better, more productive people in the process, then you are a servant leader. The highest priority of a servant leader is to encourage, support and enable subordinates to unfold their full potential and abilities. Leos, we are working in a volunteer organization. As Leo leaders, our primary focus should be to serve our fellow leos and community, not to exercise authority. Serve first, earn respect, and then you will be able to become a great leader. At Leo District 306 A2, we promote Servant Leadership qualities in building next generation leaders.

What were the challenges that you faced as a Leader of Leo District?
I have faced many challenges when I was in various positions. Especially when I planned to do quality projects, which the society needed and managing the time and resources.
I always have an aim and also I made plans according to the time and achieved it. I believe in myself that i can do. I cannot forget my parents and friends. Their encouragements helped me a lot to overcome those challenges.
I have lots of friends and I have got lots of experiences about event organizing, team work, many opportunities to show my talents as a leader and I have a got opportunity to serve the society in many ways.
What is the energy you see in Leoism that should be improved for the betterment with your experience?
Friendship is an energy I saw in Leoism, experiences from event organizing, team work.

Time management is a really important thing that I got from Leoism, I have learned to face various types of problems in daily life, to identify the society. As I have met Leos who have more experiences than me in my carrier it has been an advantage for me to succeed in my carrier.
