MIFF Beefed Up for 2012 Innovative Furniture Designs

Description: The 4th Malaysian International Furniture Fair Furniture Design Competition (MIFF FDC) to discover newest creative furniture designs as potential breakthrough in world market and furniture industry. Malaysia (November 14, 2012) After three consecutive years of successful talent showcasing, Ideation Award or now tagged as the Malaysian International Furniture Fair Furniture Design Competition (MIFF FDC) has again beefed up to held its 4th furniture design competition in Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) and Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC). With its theme, A Tribute to the Shapes and Colours of Malaysia, this years participants will be potentially given the opportunity to exhibit their best artistic yet creative furniture designs. Over 187 contestants registered for the contest. This number has been squeezed down to 10 finalists for the Young Talent Category due to the inferior designs which doesnt even meet the standards for being included to the best furniture deals in the market futuristically. Designs are rounded for contemporary dining tables, bedroom and living room sets, office furnishings and even modern sectional sofas. According to the competitions chief judge, Klaus J. Kummer, The participants this year have lived up to the required standards and they were very realistic and conscious about using natural resources. He also added that the competition serves as an avenue to showcase the participants creativity and innovativeness in furniture designing. Moreover, Kummer, a KDT International president and chief executive officer at the same time, told in a press conference at the Seri Pacific Hotel in Kuala Lumpur that it is vital for the novice in furniture designing to concentrate on the lifestyle and needs of the people out of the country where design is concerned as well as to give significance on other elements like the factor of ergonomics. Datuk Dr Tan Chin Huat, MIFF chairman, stressed that this kind of competition lets more innovative and creative ideas to be introduced in the furniture industry as well as to support more neophytes to join this line of work. This annual event is duly supported by The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, in line with Malaysias continuing search for branding in their local furniture industry that may seize attention and capture potential promotions onto the foreign market. Lets know the best design on the 4th of March, 2013, on its final judgment. Exhibit will come two days after the judgment at the MIFF 2013.
