The Quest for Green Batteries:
Individuals, corporations and governments , it seems, are all on a quest to green-ify. Our lives, Unsurprisingly, a great deal of effort, and resources are being poured into developing environment- friendly battery technologies. Batteries typically contain many toxic ingredients such as lead , mercury, cadmium and chromium. Whenthese batteries are disposed of, these toxic contents leak and contaminate the soil, water and air. To make batteries, cleaner , green battery technologies seek to reduce the use of these toxics and find relatively cleaner compounds with which to make batteries. Researchers, therefore, are developing technologies that might help replace lithium, improve storage capacity or reduce environmental impact.

The two sides of a coin (2nd quarter)

Summary: Just like coin, there are always two sides to everything depending on which part you view it from. Some stories can even have more than two sided to them depending on who told it or which point of view you hear it from. If there is a bad side; there should also be a good side/ No one and nothing can be totally good or totally bad See this concept of having two or more sides, batteries is an example it is very useful. They store and provide us power when we need it. They also come in handy because of their size. If not for the batteries, we wont be enjoying the many gadgets that we have now. They are a vital part of the modern technology. But they also bring dreadful effects to the environment

Glowing Blue Waves (2 quarter)

nd

Glowing ocean waves are both beautiful and a little alarming at first sight. In 2010, the following blue waves at a beach in Maldives in the South Pacific were captured on a camera by Doug Perrine, a photographer of marine biology. It garnered a lot of attention because of the beauty it represents. It may be unusual but it is not harmful. According to marine biologist and bioluminescence, the blue light in the waves is caused by marine microbes called phytoplankton. The most common phytoplankton that contributes to marine bioluminescence is the dinoflagellates. Dinoflagellate has a special channel in its cell that respinds electrical.
