The Annual World Missions Conference Hosted by the Christian Churches of the Grand Valley - March 15-17th.

The Theme, ReKNEWing Missions- -Opportunities, Threats, and The Way Ahead, will be developed by Shawn Gardner, The Executive Director of Turkish World Outreach, who will be speaking each evening. Friday evening Mr. Gardner will be looking at OPPORTUNITIES that are being developed today in missions. Saturday he will talk about THREATS that are eroding the effectiveness and viability of missions. Sunday evening he will look at THE WAY AHEAD, prescription for the way to capitalize on opportunities, build strengths, avoid threats and correct weaknesses. The Conference will begin on Friday, March 15 6:30 PM at the Northeast Christian Church (2751 Patterson Rd.) with a banquet and evening service. The banquet cost $3 per individual and $10 for a family. Please call NECC 243-6672 to buy tickets. Saturday Morning, March 16 8:00 AM at the Clifton Christian Church (615 I-70 Business Loop) will be a morning of helpful workshops. There are a wide range of topics to be covered by knowledgeable & experienced presenters. The workshops begin at 8:50 AM, 9:40 AM, 10:30 AM & 11:20 AM. You will have opportunity to sit in on four different workshops. The Saturday & Sunday Evening services will be held at the Clifton Christian Church 615 I-70 business loop on the frontage road Saturday Evening service will begin at 6:08 PM Sunday the service will start at 4 PM with hands on missions projects needed by missionaries, a time of worship & sharing, and a time to visit with missionaries and ministry exhibits. Refreshments will be served. This will be a family time, so please bring the kids! . The workshops being offered Saturday Morning are:
INCREASING OUR GLOBAL AWARENESS--developing a friendship & an outreach to International students. Greg Swinney, Crossroads International Student Ministry, Kearney, Nebraska NORTH BURMA CHRISTIAN MISSION-- Started in 1921 by J. Russell Morse, first in Tibet, China, Burma & Thailand, & now they have missionaries serving 10 language groups. Larry Leathermon, Chairman of the NBCM Board. MY REALITY: MODERN-DAY OLIVER TWISTS & FRIENDS-- How we can make a difference among the least, the last and the lost in Sudan and surrounding countries. Charlotte Sinclair Barkley has spent 35 years working in Africa. DISENTANGLING CHRISTIANITY FROM CULTURE--in America as well as other countries. Dr. Brett Miller has been asked by the leaders of the 18 million member amaZioni Church to teach the pure Gospel of Christ to combat the cultural mixture of traditional beliefs with Christianity. KNOWLEDGE VS COMPREHENSION IN MAKING DISCIPLES-- Velma Corson works in Mozambique & South Africa UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS- WHY SHOULD I CARE?--Learn who they are, where do they live, and why are they important? Ken Katayama, President of Crossover Communication International. MISSIONS DILEMMA-ARE WE DOING MISSIONS THE RIGHT WAY?-- A study by Steve Saint who grew up a missionary kid in Ecuador and lived among the Waodani warriors who killed his father.
