A Journey To The Fathers Bosom

Fasting Preparation (Fasting - Prayer - Alms Giving)

+ With repentance and through fasting we are liberated from lust, indulging the body, and softness. It strengthens our hands to be lifted up for prayer and to be stretched out for doing good and charitable deeds. These are the delicious fruits in the life of the repentant person. The church puts an emphasis, to the repentant, on how important to focus on inner life in secret through taming the body and controlling it. + The Church also offers to us the concept of weaning oneself from the world as a fundamental principle in the life for those who live with God Thy kingdom come (Matthew 6:10). A person weaned from the world desires the heavenly kingdom and asks for its coming in the Lords Prayer. + The great lent is a fantastic opportunity to be adorned with the virtues of giving, laying down ones life, and the acts of mercy. When a man strives through fasting and prayer, he rushes with his heart to give alms, thus he gives his bread, that he saved in fasting, to the hungry and covers the naked with clothing. (Ezekiel 18:7) + The purpose of fasting is purity of heart and beholding God as a father accepting our love. Therefore, the enemy of God makes every effort to spoil this work by the slipping of boasting and the praising of others to us, so our love towards God drifts away from him and fasting becomes a formality without spirit. + We shouldnt fast for the sake of fasting, nor to deprive ourselves, but rather to practice self control and the release of the heart to the heavenly life.

Week 1 : Monday____________ Who is The Greatest?

Mark 9:33-50

e often meet people who seem very important and truly great in the worlds eyes. But we need to remember that according to God it is those who serve who are truly the greatest. If we want to be truly great we need to learn how to serve others. Think about: About what were the disciples disputed among themselves?

If anyone desires to be first, he shall be ......and ......of all. How could I be servant for others?

I thank you my Lord that even though I am not rich and famous I can still be truly great by learning to serve others. Amen

Week 1 : Tuesday____________ The Wise and Unwise Servant

Luke12:41-50

he unwise servant made two mistakes. First, he said I will do whatever I want while my master is away forgetting that the Day of Judgment must come. Second, he said I have plenty of time to put things right before the master comes. In my daily life, do I often care about seeking God and feeling his presence in my daily interactions? Or I think that I am still so young and have plenty of time before the master comes? Think about: How can I be ready for Christs coming?

How am I supposed to be a watchful servant? What is the reward for the watchful servant?

With a compassionate eye, O lord, look upon my weakness, for shortly my life will end and according to my deeds I have no salvation. Therefore, I beseech, O lord, with a merciful eye look upon my weakness, my humility, my poverty and my sojourning and save me (the midnight hour the third watch)

Week 1 : Wednesday____________ Love Your Enemies & Judge Not

Luke 6:35-38

hen someone does something bad to you, what are your reactions/ thoughts toward that person? You forgive, but you ask God to revenge You forgive but you dont want to talk/see that person any more You ignore the problem, but you still keep your anger, madness and bad feelings toward that person. If you want God to judge and punish someone thats not forgiveness. When you fully forgive someone anger will be replaced with sympathy for them Think about: What should we do to be children of the Most High? Jude not, and you shall not ........... Condemn not, and you shall not be ................. .Forgive, and you will be ............ Why is it important not to judge any one?

As the judge is present, take heed O my soul, awake and consider that dreadful hour, for in the Day of Judgment there is no mercy for those who were not merciful. Therefore, have compassion on me, O savior, for you alone are the lover of mankind (the midnight hour the third watch).

Week 1 : Thursday____________ The Growing Seed

Mark 4:21-29

y role is to plant the seed, water it, fertile the soil. Meaning, I am responsible about my spiritual life, like reading the bible, daily prayers, communion, repentance and confession etc... My spiritual growth is Gods job. It is also important to know the seeds grow gradually, meaning, growing in spirit is gradual, and I need to be patient and take my spiritual life seriously. Think about: What did the man do in the parable of the growing seed? Who made the plant grow? Do I desire to grow in grace? What practical steps do I need to take?

My Lord Jesus Christ, help me to grow in faith and love to you. Show me how to be patient and how to continue nurture your seed that you put in my heart, and trust that you will grow it gradually and will bring the Holy Spirit fruits on the right time. Amen

Week 1 : Friday____________ Jesus Teaching On Prayer

Luke 11:1-10

he man who went to his friend at midnight was so persistent because he was in real need for the loaves to eat and to feed others as well. Also the man had no doubt that his friend has the loaves and can fulfill his needs. When we come before God, we need to acknowledge two things: 1st: we have nothing and we are in real need for Him. 2nd: He can fulfill our needs. Think about: What were the man needs? What are my needs (love, forgiveness, healing, mercy, etc)?

Did the friend respond right away? What was the man reaction? What if God didnt answer my prayers?

So I say to you ............ and it will be given to you, seek and you will ............, knock and it will be ............. My Heavenly Father, I thank you for you always listen to my prayer. Please God teach me how to pray. Fill me with your holy spirit to guide me. Amen

Week 1 : Saturday____________ Sermon On the Mount

Matthew 5:38-48

ur Lord Jesus extends the love commandment to the enemy and the persecutor. An example of such perfect love was shown by the Lord Jesus Christ praying for his persecutors on the cross. What does the World teach us? An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. What does Jesus teach us? Go to the second mile and love your enemies. Did Jesus gave as a command that is not applicable? When God gives us a command to do, he gives us the power to do so. He gave us a powerful tool that the world doesnt has which is his holy spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us the power and the ability to go to the second mile and to love our enemies. Think about: Whom should we love according to Gods commandment? Who can help us to do so? If anyone wants to ..... you and take away your ......., let him have your.......... What should we do to be sons of our Father in heaven? Week 1 : Sunday____________ Treasure In Heaven

Matthew 6:19-33

n our lives we acquire a lot of valuable things which we consider treasures and we are keen to keep and preserve them. The bible teaches us that our treasure is where our heart will be. If our treasure is on earth, our heart will experience much disappointment, as things for which we have affection to will decay. If our treasure in heaven, our hearts will not suffer. For our treasure is incorruptible, undefiled and does not fade away. Think about: What things I have which I consider treasure? Why?

How can I lay up treasures in heaven?

What should I seek first?

Thank you my heavenly father for you care about all my needs. Help me to focus on you and not to be distracted by anything. You are my treasure and seek you only. Amen

Week 2 : Monday____________ The Persistent Widow

Luke 18:1-8

od assured us that he hears and answers our prayer. We must have the faith to continue praying even if our prayer is not answered right away. God has his own times, it seems that God is not answering right away, but he has something better for us and it is a good time to build a relationship with him. Prayer does really work. If you want to change situation at school or at home, If you want to do anything good in your life. We got to pray! Think about: What is the purpose of this parable? Why sometimes God answer our prayer right away? When the Son of Man comes, will he really find faith on earth. How this verse is related to the parable?

My Lord Jesus, teach me how to pray, how to love prayer, to be really in your presence. Gave me Lord to grow in life of prayer and to get to know you more. Gave me the encouragement to pray and to experience heaven on earth through prayer. Amen

Mark 10:17-27

This young man was rich, and everyone around him was poor. God told him to think of others and be generous. That is our faith when you do good to others, you will be happy. Be generous, love all people and take care of everyone. Think about: What was Jesus answer to the young rich man?

Was the man happy with Jesus answer?

How could I be happy?

Thank you God for all the things you provide for me, please God help me to love and care about everyone. Gave me the faith that when I give I will be really happy. Amen

It seems strange that the disciples should again be anxious about the possibility of feeding a multitude when they had seen the wonderful feeding of the five thousands. When we are in trouble and fear do we always remember how the Lord has taken care of us before? Think about: What did Jesus ask his disciples about?

How many loaves did they have?

What things do I remember that God had/is taking care of me?

Thank you God for your care about all my needs. Help me God to have always the faith that you are with me. Amen

Jesus graciously told them of their inheritance in the kingdom of God which will be much greater than they might have left behind. Think about: Why did the rich young man go sad?

What did our Lord Jesus answer St Peter?

How Gods reward is more than I expect?

Help me God to focus on you. I want to love you from all my heart, all my strength and all my mind!

Luke 6:39-49

he foundation is the substance on which we build the structure and it supports the hall structure. If the foundation is not strong what will happen if storm , strong wind or tornado comes. It falls over. If the foundation is deep, sure and good, the structure will not fall. To have a solid structure we should first: have a relationship with God. Second: read the word of God. Third: live and practice the word of God. Think about: Do I hear the word of God and not do? (James 1:21-25)

What is a man who hears and does the word of God like?

Why must the house be built on the rock?

Thank you my Lord for the love you consistently fill me with. God I need to build my home on rock, dig deep and remove every obstacle between you and me. I can only do that with your strength. Please God guide me , lead me and be my master builder.

Matthew 7:13-21

hen driving you need to pay attention to the signs on the road and follow the instructions, otherwise you put your life in danger. Instruction may seem like a restriction that frustrates us sometimes Stop signs, slow down etc. But it is there for a reason, YOUR SAFETY. Gods commandments are there for a reason, YOUR SALVATION. If you care about your eternal life, you abide to Gods commandments, even though it seems a restriction or a burden sometime, but make sure its there for your spiritual benefit. Walking in Gods way a narrow gate is by choice, you choose to walk in the narrow gate because you are sure that it will lead to eternal life

What are the differences between the two ways (the gate - how many people - the destination)? Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who ........................... How can I enter from the narrow gate?

My king and savior, the world provides many wide and comfortable gates for me; I need to find the narrow gate and walk in it. I need to walk with you; even in the narrow gate I will be happy because you are with me. Amen

What are the three things that Satan tempted our Lord Jesus with?

How did our Lord Jesus respond each time? How can we defeat the devil in temptation?

My heavenly Father, please help me to memorize your word, so it protects me against Satans temptations. Teach me how to fast and pray and be victorious as you have defeated Satan in the wilderness. Amen

Luke 11:33-36

ave you considered how significant your eye is? Everything that you see, even since childhood, will be remembered. Were able to picture a cross and feel the love of Christ for us. Whatever we feed into our eyes is what we feed into our hearts. If what we see is pure, then our hearts will also be pure. Lets all strive for a truly pure heart that God would be truly pleased with. Think about: What is the lamp of the body, according to Christ? How can we ensure that the light within us isnt darkness? How can we show the light in us to others? Why is this important?

Lord, help me to guard what I see. Help me to pay attention to the devil thats constantly trying to trick me. Guide me to become pure like you. Show me how to share the light thats in me with others. Help me to maintain a heart that is pure and pleasing to you. Amen

Week 3 : Tuesday____________ The Children Are Set Free

John 8:31-39

re we Jesus disciples? Are we following His commandments? Christ died for us on the cross so that we can be free of sin, so that sin doesnt have to control us. Sin takes us away from Christ and makes us forget everything He has done for us. When we sin, we are telling God that we dont want to be free. We want to be addicted to this sin, to become a slave to it. Think about: What happens when we commit sin? How can we get back to being closer to God and becoming free again? What are some steps we can take to stop committing a sin that has become an addiction in our lives?

My Heavenly Father, please help me to not want to sin against you. Help me to not be a slave to sin but to be set free, as your own child, you can set me free. Help me to understand how much you sacrificed for me to free me from any bondage. Guide me to see your love for me every day. Amen

He shows me to be strong in temptation, to be knowledgeable about the Bible, and to continue fighting the devil. My focus should not be on worldly things. My focus should be on heaven and on God. Where is my focus today? Think about: How do I prepare myself for temptation? What are some things that will help me in temptation? How can I refocus my attention on God?

God, please help me as I face temptations against the devil. Strengthen me when Im tempted. Help me to feel your presence throughout my life. Put in me the desire to be closer to you. Help me to focus on you, I trust that you can give me victory. Amen

Have you been obedient to your Heavenly Father lately? Think about: What does Jesus say will happen when I believe in Him?

Why is obedience important?

My heavenly father, please show me your love for me. You came to the world so I dont stay in darkness! You had a plan to save me if I only obey you.. Please give me patience and guidance to be obedient, not just to the parents you have given me, but also to you. Help me to hear your words and trust in you. Amen

Jesus also warns me that if I dont repent truly, I allow even more demons to come inside me and make me even worse. They will draw me away from God and against Him. So have I truly repented today? Think about: The Pharisees thought that Jesus casts the demons by whom?

What will happen to me if Im not with Jesus?

What does true repentance mean?

My Lord Jesus Christ, I want to be with you. I want you to be in my heart. I want you to take away everything in my heart thats displeasing to you. Matthew 18:23-35

magine if you owed someone $1 million. Then you go and plead with him and he forgives your debt. You will be SO relieved! But imagine that someone owes you $5 and you constantly bother them about it. This is what we do to one another. Jesus constantly forgives us, yet when someone does something to us, we never forgive. Think about how that makes Jesus feel. Think about: Who does the Master symbolize? Who do the servants symbolize? How did the master treat the servant in the beginning?

What is the lesson of this reading? (Hint: verse 35)

My Lord Jesus, thank you for having compassion on me every day. Please God, help me to forgive others. Help me to forgive my friends and my enemies. Help me in my struggle to forgive and forget and not to hold grudges. Lord, forgive me my trespasses as I forgive those who trespass against me. Amen

Hell remind you who you are. You are the son or daughter of the majestic King of kings. Do you know your worth to God? Think about: Will God ever force me to be with Him? Why? When did the prodigal son decide to come home? (Hint: verse 17) How is this story relevant to me?

My Lord Jesus, thank you for having compassion on me every day. Please God, help me to forgive others. Help me to forgive my friends and my enemies. Help me in my struggle to forgive and forget and not to hold grudges. Lord, forgive me my trespasses as I forgive those who trespass against me. Amen

Money can be a source of all evil, but our Lord in this parable shows us a steward who was smart to use his masters money for his benefit. He commended him for using the money to make friends. All what we have is not ours, Jesus encourages us to use it to make heavenly friends. Think about: Why was the steward released from his job?

What do you think the point of this story?

Do you believe what the steward did was right? Why or Why not?

He calls each and every one of us to focus less on the world and more on spreading His word. Jesus wants me to focus on Him and Him alone. Am I focused on God? Am I finding ways to share God with others? Think about: What could be taking my focus away these days? How can I redirect my focus?

What are some ways I put my hands on the plow and look back?

God, sometimes I am distracted by things in this world. I dont focus on You. Would you please help me throughout my day to focus my attention on you? Hell save me and protect me. Hes the King of peace. Think about: Why are the disciples scared? Where is their focus?

Who can I depend on when Im scared, anxious, worried?

How can I have more faith? What other times God came through for me?

Lord, thank you for always calming the storms in my life. Thank you for taking care of me. Thank you for caring about me. My father, help me to trust you more. Help me to not be afraid. So, do I have faith? Am I calling out for Jesus and asking Him to open my eyes? Jesus is asking me, What do you want Me to do for you? Think about: What did the man do when people tried to quiet him? How does Jesus react when I call Him?

What does it mean for me to receive my sight? How am I blind?

God, I thank you for always answering me when I call you. I thank you that you care so much every time I call you. Lord, I have faith that you can work amazing wonders in me. Im asking you to open my eyes so I can see you and to know you. Amen

When He saw her faith, He was amazed and her daughter was healed immediately. How is your faith in Jesus? Is it enough to amaze Him? Think about: What is the most significant thing this woman has? Who are the dogs and who are the children?

Who did Jesus come to heal? (Hint: Verses 31-32) What does this mean for me?

Do I care that God sent down His son for me? Am I accepting Him or am I like the Pharisees? Think about: Who are the vinedressers, the landowner, and the servants?

In verse 43, who is Jesus talking about?

How could this parable be related to the Samaritan woman week?

God, I thank you so much for caring for my salvation that you sent your only son down to be crucified for my sake. Think about: What did the Samaritan woman do after Jesus told her Hes the Messiah? What is Jesus food? How is this story relevant to me personally today?

Wrong, Jesus Christ is our provider, however the disciples still did not understand that Christ could provide for all their needs. Think about: Why did Christ insist on feeding the multitude? What was the lesson behind it? Write a verse that stuck out, why did you like this verse?

Why the disciples lacked faith? And how is that similar to me?

Christ came to save us and there is enough evidence to prove that He is God. Yet, only through a true relationship with Him that He can answer my questions and strengthen my faith. Think about: Who is really Jesus for me? (Lord, Father, God, Not really God) Do you feel that having some doubts is a bad thing? Why? What can I do to grow my relationship to Christ in order to strengthen my faith and answer my questions?

My Heavenly Father, guide me and help me in creating a relationship with you. I believe in you, I trust that you are the light of the World and the light of my world. Enlighten my life with your words and your peace. Amen

Who does vinedresser represent and why is he important in this parable?

How am I doing on fruits? What can I do to produce some?

Christ is that medicine and everyday that passes by without Him is a day we die inside. Think about: What are the similarities between me and the disabled woman? Why were the Pharisees wrong in their response to Christ? What have you learned from this story? What are some things that stuck out to you?

My heavenly father, my heart is disabled and crippled. Today and every day is a good time for you to heal me. Help me to understand my traditions as a mean to you, I dont want anything to stand between your love and me. Oh Lord, open up my heart and my mind and uncripple them with your grace. Amen

Week 5: Friday_________ Jesus Warns the Unbelievers

John 8:21-27

hat a strong statement Die in your sin, this should not be taken lightly. Sin has a way of creeping into our hearts, into our minds, and into our eyes. Its a deadly virus that we underestimate. But whats even worse is how much we underestimate God. Instead of telling our sins how big our God is, we stand still in lack of faith in telling our Lord how big our sins are. Think about: What do you think verse 24 means?

In what ways can I strengthen my faith? What kind of commitment do I have?

My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I thank you so much Lord for all your warnings and great urgency in saving me. Lord my lack of faith destroys my chances of overcoming my sins. Only through you I can overcome all my sins. I beg of you Lord to help my faith to grow in order to face my sins without any fear. Amen

survey states that 76% of non-Christians believe that Christians are judgmental. The same survey states that 85% of Christians believe that other Christians are judgmental. Sadly our community can sometimes bring us down. My focus should always be on God and not others. The Pharisees led with their words, while Christ wants me to lead with my actions and the focus being on Him. Think about: In what ways were the Pharisees hypocrites?

What parts of my life do I feel hypocrisy and judging exist? What will I do about it?

My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I thank you so much Lord for all your warnings and great urgency in saving me. Lord my lack of faith destroys my chances of overcoming my sins. Week 5: Sunday_________ The Healing of the Paralytic

John 5:1-18

o you want to be healed? A question Christ asks me everyday! In my heart do I want to get closer to Christ? Sin is a disease and Christ is the only one who can cure me and give me eternal life. A life full of comfort and peace, a life full of happiness and joy, and a life of everlasting satisfaction. Find me a person who wouldnt want this! Think about: This man couldnt move.. So Christ came to him! How does Jesus do the same with me?

The paralytic was lonely, had no man to throw him in the water. Jesus is the friend of the lonely and the forgotten. Do I know anyone lonely or need help?

My heavenly Father, you are the help of who has no help, and the hope of who has no hope.. You come to us and search for us. Im overwhelmed with your love for me and for your creation. Give me to participate with you to care for all the people around me who are in need. Amen

Week 6: Monday_________ Repent or Perish

Luke 13:1-5

ome times bad things or disasters happen around us. These could be warning signs for us to repent. When the people around Jesus were talking about disasters that happened in nearby cities, Jesus told them that everyone should repent so these disasters could be avoided or they should be ready at all time. Think about: What did Pilate mingle in the Galileans Sacrifices?

Am I leading a continuous life of repentance?

My heavenly Father, you are the help of who has no help, and the hope of who has no hope. You come to us and search for us. Im overwhelmed with your love for me and for your creation. Give me to participate with you to care for all the people around me who are in need. Amen

Luke 9:18-22

personal relationship with Christ is the most important aspect of Christianity. Talking with God, listening to His words, partaking of His Body and Blood on a regular basis; thats true Christianity. Peters confession is the foundation of our Church faith. Congratulations by committing yourself to this booklet shows that you are taking steps in building on this foundation. Think about: If Jesus asks me today this question in vs 18. Who do I think Jesus is. What would be my answer?

Jesus Christ you are my one and all. You Lord are the alpha and the omega. You are the one that created me; you had great plans for me while I was in my mothers womb. Lord, I want to know you more. Teach me your ways. Open up my eyes and my heart, and help me to overcome all barriers that keep me away from you. Amen

Week 6: Wednesday_________ Jesus Confronting Hypocrisy

Luke 11:45-52

ne thing Jesus does not tolerate is hypocrisy. This gentle Jesus was very aggressive with the hypocrites. A hypocrite is someone who is not honest with himself. This is a dangerous disease that has to be confronted heads on. Think about: Someone who is sick with hypocrisy does not realize it. Im afraid if Im one and not aware of it. Is there any pocket of hipocrisy in my heart?

When God confront me with my hypocrisy, am I direct and honest to see it, and to work with Jesus to fix it?

My heavenly Father, you are the help of who has no help, and the hope of who has no hope.. You come to us and search for us. Im overwhelmed with your love for me and for your creation. Give me to participate with you to care for all the people around me who are in need. Amen

Week 6: Thursday_________ The Bread Coming From Heaven

John 6:47-71

he sacrament of communion is one of the most revered and important sacraments in our church. Its the time where we prepare our body to unite with Christ. Pope Kyrillos used to take communion everyday, the Lord abides in him in a daily basis, and transformed him to become Christ like. Think about: What did Christ mean by saying eat my body and drink my blood? What do you believe the korban and wine mixed with water at every liturgy represent? How could be one thing I start doing more to prepare in partaking of this sacrament?

My beloved Jesus Christ, I thank you so much Lord for your body and blood. In order for you to abide in me and I in You. Please God warm my Heart and open up my eyes and mind to truly understand the power of your alter and of the body and blood I partake of. And do not let me go one week without having you abide in me. Week 6: Friday_________ The New Birth

John 3:1-13

any of us do not remember our baptism, neither do we remember our first communion. And this might be the reason that we might take the sacrament of baptism for granted at times. If you notice our church always has the baptism nave as the first thing you see once you enter the church. Why? To remember our birth from above and because only through baptism can one enter the kingdom of heaven. Think about: Even though I dont remember, knowing what I know about baptism now, what does it mean to me?

How is the power of the new birth in my life? Do I feel I am a new creation and have new tools facing sin and peer pressure?

My beloved Jesus Christ, I thank you so much Lord for your body and blood. In order for you to abide in me and I in You. Please God warm my Heart and open up my eyes and mind to truly understand the power of your alter and of the body and blood I partake of. And do not let me go one week without having you abide in me. The liturgy is full of the shout Lord Have Mercy/Kyrieleison. Its a short but powerful prayer. Think about: What was Bartimaeus occupation and sickness? How did he caught Christs attention? How can I get it?

Do you believe if I cry out to the Lord He would listen?

O Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me a sinner! O Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me a sinner! Teach me my God to implant this small prayer in my mind at all times. Guide me and strengthen me, hear me and open up my eyes just as you opened the eyes of Bartimaeus. Amen

Week 6: Sunday_________ Jesus Heals A Man Born Blind

John 9:1-41

eer pressure is a very common theme in life. Everyone at one point or another has to deal with peer pressure. The blind man in this story was faced with astonishing peer pressure. The elders wanted him to say Christ did not heal him. The man however stood up to this peer pressure and he made sure he would not deny Christ. Think about: What reason did the disciples have of this mans blindness? How did the blind man stand up to the peer pressure?

Have I ever done something wrong in order to fit in? What should Ive done instead?

My heavenly father, I thank you with all gratitude for your acceptance of me even with my many sins. Lord this world is full of pressure, and many distractions. Help me to understand and be reminded every day that I am here temporarily and would love to spend eternity in peace, and everlasting happiness with you. Amen

Week 7: Monday_________ Testimonies About Jesus

John 5:31-47

any people talk and testify about Jesus. The prophets, the apostles, the old and the new testaments. Its crucial to sit with the scripture and hear these testimonies and let them sink in, and abide in us. This would enrich our understanding and our relationship with Him. Think about: Who do you think Jesus was speaking to? Read verse 38; place it in your own words. What does it mean to you? When is sitting with God on a daily basis, reading His words and speaking to him, be an important aspect of my life?

My heavenly father, I thank you with all gratitude for your acceptance of me even with my many sins. Lord this world is full of pressure, and many distractions. No. You wont But they are so hard headed and so bent on doing it their way. Frustrating right? Here you are trying to save their lives, and here they are adamant on killing themselves. Welcome to our relationship with Christ at times. Think about: Who was Isaiah speaking about in his prophecies that John quotes?

How do I harden my heart or force my eyes to be shut towards God? How can I fix those things?

Jesus you are my Lord, Jesus you are my God, Jesus you are the hope of all Christians. Break through my heart and kill away this pride and hard hardheadedness that I have. Everything you ever wanted, everything you have ever dreamed, and even things you have never dreamed of. What a great deal. But why would this king do this? Out of love! He loves you that much; He wants to give you all things. Just believe in Him and you wont be disappointed. Think about: In what verse does Christ say He is willing to give me everything?

If verse 37 is said to me, how does that make me feel?

My Lord and God Jesus Christ, I stand before you today as a beggar. I come running as a child runs to His father. Lord I know you will never turn me away, you never turn your back on your people. Mark 12:18-27

he after life is a mystery that many people question. What happens after this life? The Sadducee (a group of Jews) had this very question for Jesus. You see they did not believe in the resurrection, and were trying to test Jesus by asking such a question. However Christ made it clear that there is an eternal life. Think about: When I picture Heaven what do I picture?

What does it mean to me that my God is a God of the living?

Christ, I desire to be renewed and live according to the image you created me in. Let certain parts of my heart be crucified so that you may reign over them. Help me Lord to stand at the end of my days in this temporary world as your Son. A son who is alive and well, a son in whom you can be proud of say this is my son who is well and alive! We fast the fast of Christ Himself and hunger with Him, but His grace works directly with our filthiness to elevate us to new spiritual atmosphere. Our Christ tries to gather us, as He wanted to gather Jerusalem. It is our decision if we want to run to His bosom or not. Think about: Read verse 34-35 and place it in your own words:

Jesus, you hungered in the desert but became filled spiritually, not desiring food or the worlds riches. When I fast with you, please give me the same grace to deny my flesh and be satisfied with you. To fully submerge myself into your bosom and to never let go. Remove any lies that Satan has planted in me to keep me from offering you true repentance. You have set me free from his traps; bring me into your eternal kingdom. Amen

John 11:1-45

hrist loved Lazarus very much! He was very close to his family as well. So why did Christ take His time in going to help him? Why did Christ delay to save His friend? All great questions, as God sometimes delays His timing in things we want or need. But as He used his delay to show a great miracle (that He can raise the dead), Christ may delay our requests for He knows the best time for them. Think about: How can we relate verse 4 in our delayed requests to God?

Read Verse 25 and try placing it in your own words:

Lord and my God, teach me to be joyful during times of struggle, let me see the sweetness of your healing within the times of my purification. Help me Christ in gaining patience and always seeing the best out of any situation. Guide me and help at all times Lord and always let your will be done. Amen
