Leading Energy Company Derwick Associates Talks About Social and Charitable Projects Derwick Associates, a leading energy

company in Venezuela, has been talking today about their work within social and charitable projects. To get more involved with communities, families and individuals, Derwick created the Hermogenes Lopez Foundation. This non-profit nationwide foundation aims to help those in need get access to more education, sports facilities and job opportunities. Causes which have benefitted from the generosity of the Hermogenes Lopez Foundation over the past few years include the Carmen Salles School in Ciudad Bolivar. Working with the local communities and on behalf of the Congregacin de las Religiosas Concepcionistas de la Enseanza,Derwick have ensured that around 1600 children have access to education. These children between the ages of 4 and 12 from the town of Nazareth now have a brand new school, ensuring their future is much brighter. The El Saman de Caujarito Community in Charallave also received help for their children, with a donation of 200 school kits to help with classes. The community are a neighbour to the La Raisa power plant and are part of a movement by Derwick, to help those communities which surround their projects. These school kits have ensured that the children within the community have a better chance of getting the education they deserve. Derwick Associates have also begun to encourage more families to get more active, by installing a football field in the community of Caucaguita, Edo. Miranda. This particular community lacked somewhere where families could go for recreational uses and for leisure, and this new field gives them this opportunity. The field is also available to use day and night because of new floodlights. Derwick also arranged for the players from the Club Deportivo Petare to come and use the field, to try and encourage more young people to make use of the facilities. Not only do they support improved education and sports, but Derwick also invest time in projects like Loyola-Tauca. This project was created to ensure that traditions and the culture of the indigenous people of Puerto Ordaz are preserved.
