[IST] Karnataka State Industrial Investment and Development Corporation, the state nodal agency, on behalf of Department of Tourism, has invited EOI (international competitive bidding) for development of a state-of-the-art aquamarine park at Mangalore in Dakshin Kannada district. The project will be developed on PPP basis. DoT, Karnataka, has identified 20 acres of sea-facing land at Bengre village for the project. The project will be implemented on DBFOT basis in an environmentally sustainable manner. KSIIDC has selected IL&FS Project Development Company Ltd as project advisor.

Narayana Guru formally consecrated the temple in February 1912 with the establishment of sacred Shiva Linga, which was brought by him. Mallikarjuna temple : Sri Mallikarjuna temple at Thodikana Sri Mallikarjuna Temple, situated in Thodikana, around 15 km from Sullia, is a famous pilgrimage location and also a famous tourist destination.

Thodikana is known most for its Mallikarjuna temple, which was probably built sometime in the 13th century. The temple gets many hundreds of visitors each week. A few meters south east of the temple there is a fish tank known as 'meenugundi' . Visitors traditionally feed the fish raw rice. Killing the fish is forbidden. Fr Charles P. Nazareth, the assistant of Agrar church, was the first resident parish priest. He used to come from Lady of Loretto Church at Bantwal Agrar in order to offer the Sunday mass at Loreto. He built a spacious hall serving as a chapel and a small presbytery on the land donated by the Bantwal parish in 1940. Fr Gerald R. Miranda (1950-1961) extended the presbytery in 1950.The church runs 2 schools, viz., Loreto Higher Primary School and Sornad Higher Primary School. Now this place is call as KOORNADKA. Beaches And Resorts : Surathkal Beach : Surathkal is a locality under Mangalore City Corporation located in the Dakshina Kannada district.
