Timeless Devotion

On a bright and warm day He would walk the length of Revere beach His aging hands cracked But this was his place of peace With its brilliant skies and enormous waves Gigantic sand dunes turned into castles and caves Sifting the golden sand through his toes Wishing she was by his side Remembering days of roller coaster rides And many children to raise It was the fifties back then And she was a queen in all her glory Surrounding all, telling her stories With her affectionate ways And the kindness of her heart Expressing her nurturing nature Nothing was greater Until an end came to her start She was his angel of life With her long dark hair Tied up tight His shirt buttoned right up to the very top Dark hair neatly combed Pants freshly pressed and bought But nothing would ever compare To the endless passion that the two did share With their family always by their side They created a life filled with joy A life filled with pride And today, for him was no different than the rest He longed for her As he would walk the length of the deep dark sea Reminiscing of the past that he so missed Longing for her open arms to enrich his soul Knowing one day again they would be whole He lived the rest of his days A life of integrity and praise For the man that he is And the men that he had raised For a daughter that mirrored her mother so

Still by her beauty, he was amazed He continued to live his life through them Until the day came and he was returned to his old and dearest friend She took his hand in hers and walked him right through He looked at her with a timeless devotion And their love was forever renewed
