And I need to let you know something very important but was hard for me to learn. You see if you read my book, you will see that I didnt want to eat lima beans because nobody else in my family or at school ate them. I thought my friends would think I was silly and that I wouldnt be cool Student 1: Lima beans? Ugh gross. Camilla: They may be gross to you but they are yummy to me. And I have learned that everyone is different and that people can still be friends even if they like different things. Student 1 bends down behind the bookcase A medium shot will show student 1 as he pulls Camilla down to the floor behind the bookcase. Both student 1 and Camilla A close-up shot of student 1 talking to Camilla. Student 1: No you dont understand, see my friends (student 1 points to his friends at the computer) they do not like to read and they pick on all the nerds who do read. So you see, if I read books they wont like me and I just dont think I want to read either. Camilla stands up A medium shot Camilla: (In a loud voice as she stands up from behind the bookcase) What! They wont be your friend if you read because they dont think its cool to read! Student 1: Get down! Student 1 grabs Camilla and pulls her back to the ground. Student 1:Yes exactly right! Reading is not cool and plus I am not very good at it. So, I am not going to

read anymore! Camilla: Oh boy you dont want to do that! Student 1: And why not? Camilla: Because you dont know what happens when you stop doing what you like because you are scared or worried about what others think! Its awful, terrible, scary, and unthinkable! Camilla puts her hand over her forehead as if she was going to faint. Student 1: What are you talking about? Camilla: Well, read my book and I will tell you. Student 1 picks up the book Close-up of student 1 picking up the book and very hesitant opens up the book. Camilla encouraging Student 1 to open it. Close-up shot Camilla: Go on, open it and you will see. Student 1 and Camilla Medium shot of student 1 looking at the book Student 1: Stripes! Wow look at all those stripes. Student 1 looks at Camilla. The camera will go from Student 1 to Camilla. Camilla is now covered in stripes like on pg. 2 of the book. Camilla: Yes, stripes. I was called. Camilla Crayon and Night of the Living Lollipop. Kids are going to find something to pick on you about if they want regardless of what you look like or what you like doing. This is a hard lesson to learn. And it doesnt stop there. Student 1 and Camilla

Camilla: Well, to be honest I brought this on myself. I didnt want to be myself I wanted to be like everyone else and I was exactly what they wanted me to be. I even turned into my room and TV channels traveled miles and miles to see my changes. The camera will angle back at student 1 as a close-up shot of student 1s confused look. The camera will go back towards Camilla. Camilla: You see, an old lady came to see me just like I am here to see you and offered me some advice. She actually offered me the one thing I was ashamed of and the one thing I loved but didnt want anyone to know. She offered me lima beans. At first, I denied her offer but I realized that being laughed at for eating them was nothing compared to what I had been going through. So, I ate as many lima beans as I could stand. You are at risk of going through what I went through if you dont learn to read and enjoy reading even if your friends dont think its cool. The camera will go to a medium shot to show both Camilla and student 1. Student 1: I do not want to be covered in stripes, or an American Flag, or polka dots, and I especially dont want to be a checkerboard! What do I have to do? Camilla: Well I would start by doing what I loved to do. READ! Student 1: Ok I will. I will enjoy reading and I might even persuade my friends to read. Thanks! Camilla: No problem, just remember, BE YOURSELF AND READ! Student 1 gathers up the book and turns to ealk back towards his friends. Student 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5
