Film Clips Composition

Eight years have passed since the previous film, when batman has vanished; bearing the blame for the death of Harvey Dent Gotham citys white knight, gone bad. For some time Batman and Commissioner Gordons lie worked, and most of Gotham citys criminals were imprisoned, but with the arrival of a cat burglar (Catwoman), and a masked mercenary (Bane), Bruce Wayne must take the role of Gothams hero once again. But this time, he may not surviveThis story is full of a dark tone, filled with themes of death and rebirth, and a rise to victory as batman endures his most difficult task yet.

The overall structure of the music form the film has repetition of a main theme and motifs in the music for each track of music. The music then has gradual changes, or sudden outburst of loud chanting or higher pitched instruments. Throughout each piece, the tension in the music slowly increases until the end of the piece. The genre of video, this music is suitable for, is videos with tension rising as the video progress, and with few characters. The music uses many techniques, to convey an overwhelming villain, or army, that the main character must fight against, leading to his or her death, in a sense, but also a rebirth in the character giving it strength to take on the overwhelming evil. The death and rebirth is especially shown in the soundtrack titled Rise, where the song begins with drums and strings with a high tempo, with the drums playing the basic rhythm (confronting the villain), then leading to a much slower, but higher pitched melody(the death), immediately followed by the sound of distant vocals on a low tempo, which is later joined by strings (depicting the rebirth), and then using silence again, begins the first variation of the melody where the hero confronts the villain, but here, the music gets more heroic, where he confronts the villain again, to win.

In the track named Gothams Reckoning the theme of bane, where there is a change from the beginning theme:

To the main motif of bane that is repeated in most of his important scenes where there is a choir chanting desha desha basara basara, (which means rise, in the language of those who are trapped in the prison shown in the film), increasing the meaning behind the piece. The musical theme shown above imitates the rhythm and to some extent pitch of the chant, making the change even more gradual, and smooth. Once the theme comes in, it uses flats and naturals together with using a large orchestra of string and brass instruments to give the theme an overwhelming feeling. It transitions from the theme to the chant motif, using a solo of the percussion, increasing the tension throughout the piece by increasing the dynamics of the chant, as well as the pitch of the instruments. This entire effect is variated and used again in different soundtracks, for example you can easily see the similarities between Gothams Reckoning and The Shadows Betray You, which are also both lines spoken by the Bane.
