Skills Challenge (20 min)

Around the World Challenge Using the Around the World drill you will create an obstacle course for players to compete in. Use 4 cones to make a box on the field Four different moves will be performed with this drill forming a square. 1. Start with a 20-yard sprint up the field 2. Shuffle 10 yards to the right 3. Backpedal for 20 yards 4. Shuffle 10 yards to the left back to the starting point. Once they get back to the starting point, they will take a hand-off from you and sprint to midfield and back. Clock stops once they cross the goal line. Players will go one at a time and you will record their time (players receive a 2-second penalty if they drop the football). Sure Hands Challenge This challenge will test their catching skills. Players will have the opportunity to catch five passes: 1. Slant route 2. 5 yard Curl 3. Go route (over-the-shoulder) 4. Lateral pitch (like a sweep toss) 5. Interception (player will backpedal and react to your pass) The player with the most catches takes the title. If players tie, they will compete again in sudden death, pass by pass.

3rd6th Grade Last Practice of the Season

Introduction:
Weve had a GREAT season! Its been so much fun watching each of you become better flag football players and better friends with each other! Weve learned a lot about flag footballbut weve also learned a lot about ourselves and about others. Think about the things that weve learned during our huddle time this year. Do you remember the three virtues weve discussed? What were they? (Allow players to answer the question.) First we learned about Knowledge. Knowledge is discovering something new so you can be better at whatever you do. God gives us knowledge so that we can be better at the things we do. This knowledge also allows us to make wise choices in life. He also wants us to know about him and what he says so that we know how to treat people and be a friend to others. Then we learned about Contentment. Contentment is deciding to be happy with what youve got. God has given each of us so much and he wants us to be grateful with what hes given us rather than focusing on the things we dont have. Also, God doesnt want us to put all of our love and trust in stuff we can buy with money. Putting all of our focus on things can get us in trouble because we lose focus of what God has planned for us. We should always put our trust and love in him instead. We also learned about Grace. Grace is getting something great that you dont deserve. We learned how great it is that God loves us even though we dont really deserve his love. In fact, he loves us so much that he sent his Son Jesus to earth so that he could die for all the wrong things we have ever done or will do. He did this to rescue us from being separated from him. He wants us to be with him forever and offers us Grace through Jesus. Listen to this weeks verse, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV) We have all made mistakes. The Bible tells us that because of sin, we are separated from God. But because God loves us so much, he provides a way back to him. Our verse teaches us that this way is through his son, Jesus. He sent his only Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life on earth and then pay the price for all of our sins on the cross. And because of that act of forgiveness, we can be with God forever. Ive got something else to tell you. Did you know that you are part of Gods BIG STORY? Thats righthe has a BIG STORY and each one of you are in it! You will learn more about that BIG STORY at the awards celebration. Its gonna be great! Lets pray to God and thank him for all hes done for us.

Prayer:
Thank God for an awesome season! Thank God for teaching us about Knowledge, Contentment and Grace. Thank God for sending his son Jesus for each one of us and always forgiving us when we mess up.
