A director for dance


Renowned dancer Jodie Gates is set to join the USC Kaufman School of Dance as its new director. Gates's choreography includes 2012's Delicate Balance for BalletX.

Lee Epstein awarded coveted Guggenheim Fellowship


Nationally renowned law and politics scholar Lee Epstein is one of only 175 artists, scholars and scientists recognized with a Guggenheim Fellowship. She was honored for her scholarship assessing diversity on the federal bench and the effect of gender, race and religion on judging. Read the full story at USC News

Life of USC medical and physical therapy pioneer honored


Jacquelin Perry brought hope to many men and women stricken with polio who struggled to walk after their illness. She also served as a role model for countless young physicians and physical therapists whose hearts drove them to heal. Gift launches international offensive against cancer


Scientists at USC and in Taiwan have joined forces to find drugs that target an enzyme linked to cancer risk. The new USC Daniel Tsai Fund for Translational Research in Pharmacy, established through USC Trustee Daniel M. Tsai's $1.5 million gift to the USC School of Pharmacy, supports the research. Board welcomes prominent businessman, USC grad


The USC Board of Trustees elected Frank J. Fertitta III, chairman and CEO of Las Vegas-based Station Casinos and Fertitta Entertainment, to join its ranks April 7. Health care financing expert joins board


Leonard D. Schaeffer was elected to the USC Board of Trustees on April 7. Schaeffer and his wife, Pamela, have generously given to establish the USC Leonard D. You may think a concrete canoe would sink, but au contraire. Eighteen teams of aspiring collegiate civil engineers brought their concrete watercraft to USC on April 4 to compete in contests of skill and knowledge.
