Cracks, Volcanoes, and Earthquakes, Oh My! It looked like it was going to be the worst week EVER!

So, it all started when my parents thought it would be fun to go to Japan for a week in February. When my dad and mom explained it they kept saying that it would be educational and fun! Personally, I didnt think that these two words should belong in the same sentence. I thought that this trip was going to be very boring! On the other hand, my parents were fascinated and were grinning from ear to ear! They even explained (in detail) about how tectonic plates were part of the reason earthquakes, cracks, and volcanoes take place. I was praying that none of these would happen while we were there. But, what can I say? Our family trips never end well. Twenty minutes later, the door on the plane finally opened, and I let out my breath that I had held for a while. When we walked out, I could hear the earth summoning me! I was scared because the Earth was trying to kill me, and I guessed it showed on my face. My brother, Darcy, kept asking me, Are you okay? I said, Yeah Im fine! Just leave me alone, please! By now, my face was a pale shade of green. For some strange reason, Darcy kept looking at me with a worried glance. Then, out of nowhere, the Earth split into two pieces right where I was going to step! It is just my mind, I kept telling myself. But, it was not my mind. The Earth was alive, and it was out to get ME! After the incident at the airport, I was very nervous because Darcy was acting strangely. We were just driving to the beach, There is nothing to worry about, I thought. Everything is fine. Then it happened. We were out surfing and having fun, and my mind was finally at peace, but then an immense bubble came up to the surface, then another, and another. Finally, lava came flinging around! Then I noticed it was aiming at me! Mortified, I stood there paralyzed. Darcy pushed me down into the water just in time. He yelled, Swim! Swim for your life! That is the second time the Earth has tried to kill me! I thought. After our trip to the beach we went shopping. This incident was the worst and caused the most destruction! It all started on February 3rd at 11:12 am in Northern Japan. Out of nowhere, the Earth started shaking!

I screamed when I saw a skyscraper fall down right in front of me! Another fell behind me, and then I looked up, and I saw one plummeting to the ground, and it was going to take me with it. Darcy finally snapped me out of my coma when he pushed me out of the way, taking my place as the skyscraper hits. No! Darcy! I said. When I thought everything was lost, I woke up, and I was on the plane. Our family trip didnt turn out that bad! But I did end up losing one of my bags that contained my birthstone necklace. The Earth must really be alive, and I think I paid a good price! I survived!
