Students should be able to identify businesses in the community. If the students can participate in discussion about local businesses and create their own business I will know that they can identify businesses in the community. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think it will be easy to teach about the different kinds of businesses there are. Children see so many commercials for businesses on TV and I am sure they go to stores with their parents so they will know about businesses. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? Students might have a hard time thinking about different consumers. They might not understand that sometimes a group of people are more likely to be consumers for a certain type of business. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? I would extend this lesson by having students take home a log to work on where they write down all the businesses that they go to within one week. We can discuss these businesses one day in school after turning in the log. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? For students who dont grasp the lesson, I would work with them one on one and try to find a video online for the students about businesses and consumers. I would try to give them examples of businesses in their everyday lives. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I would try to find a book about businesses or a video so that I can engage the students more and give them something visual to look at. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? I think just coming up with a lesson plan in general was the most difficult part. For the most part I made it up on my own. I think the best way for them to learn about businesses is to create one on their own and think about who the consumers are. It was difficult to keep this assignment at a second grade level.
