I will use formative assessment while having classroom discussions and small group discussions. I will also be collecting the notes students took while doing research. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. Students will be able to describe the criteria for U.S. citizenship. I will know students will be able to describe the criteria for U.S. citizenship if students are able to take notes from the website about citizenship and explain their finding to their peers. F. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think it will be easy to introduce the ways to become a citizen. I think students will have previous knowledge from history about immigrants so I think they will know a little bit about becoming a citizen. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? I think it might be hard for students to describe what citizenship means. It could mean many things and they probably have heard it before but they might need some guidance in coming up with ideas about citizenship. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? I can extend the lesson by having the students write about the journey of one immigrant becoming a U.S. citizen. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? For students who dont grasp the concept, we can read a book that has to do with immigration. This might give them an example and better example of how there is a process to becoming a citizen. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I might need to change the computer part of the lesson if there is not enough time. I could print pages from the website for the sake of time. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? The most difficult part of writing this lesson plan was thinking of a way to engage students. I wasnt sure if I wanted to read a book, show a video, or give an example.
