COVER LETTER Please let introduce myself. I am a passionate defendant of human rights, especially does related with women and children. I truly believe that improving life conditions of this group, we have the chance to change the world in a better place where children, women and men can coexist in an environment of respect, peace and equitable development. I have read the TOR for this job, and I can tell you that I have the knowledge and professional skills, but also the competences of ethics and values to be part of UNWOMEN. During the 2 years that I have been working with UNICEF, I also demonstrate the capacity to take charge of self-development and initiative, work in teams, and working in a multicultural environment. I have the conviction and emotional support of my family, to aspire an international professional career. Professional Skills I started my career as journalist and news anchor, working in the most prestigious social media in Nicaragua: La Prensa, News Paper and TVNoticias, Channel 2, where I have worked during 8 years. During this period of time I have the chance to investigate and develop an agenda of social issues such as national state budget for education and health focus on children, and many other topics that allowed me a public recognition and create a networking. During this period of time, I learned everything related to the functioning of media, relation between journalists, media interest agenda, news media treatment. I also improved my professional skills in writing, text editing, new technologies, video editing, live broadcast and working under pressure. Motivated by my 8 years of experience in media, I also studied a Master in Strategic Marketing, that encourage myself in a new challenge: working for institutional external communication. During the last 5 years, I have offered my service to 3 national and 2 international social organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity and UNICEF, this last one as a NOA Communication Officer Step 2 Fix Term.

Coordinating UNICEF strategic alliances with private companies, Telefonica Movistar 2012 2013. Principal results:

As part of the Communication Section in Nicaragua, we have achieved the first position of faster growing in social media network: Facebook and Twitter, for a national office in TACRO. I led the task force that prepared and obtain the first visit of a Goodwill Ambassador to Nicaragua Country Office. I led the strategic alliance with the media for the execution of two campaigns concerning to the rights of children and the prevention of sexual exploitation and trafficking: Pocoyo and the Rights of Children, and Invisibles Slaves, a 23minute documentary produced by MTV . Being the liaison with TV station and cinemas, UNICEF obtained the national TV broadcast free of the 2 campaigns, reaching a higher saving up $ 400,000 and achieving the projected UNICEF brand. A compromise person During my almost two years of service in the United Nations, I have proven my capacity and highly individual responsibility, ethic values to achieve the following competencies: Core: Communication, Working with people, Drive for results. Managerial: Formulating strategies, relating and networking. Functional: Persuading and influencing, Applying Technical Expertise, Learning and Researching, Planning and organizing.
