Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, who am I after all?
How many times do we women look in the mirror and cringe. Funny, men pass by a storefront window and they pay attention, suck in their gut, push out their chest and brush their hair, make their fist and pump a muscle. “Man, I look GOOD!” Conversely, Women walk by and suddenly react as if they have been attacked, shrieking and scurrying past it, putting their hand up over their eyes as if like a horse they need blinders and rush for the other side of the street. We have been so brain washed, we have swallowed so many things that are fed to us, and now we have a very wrong and skewed view of what we are called to and called to be. We compare ourselves with others all the time and we either pridefully boast we are not like someone else or we want to bury our head in the sand and disappear into the background. Who had BARBIEs? O My gosh, I can remember playing with Barbies for ever as a kid...I think till I was about 14 years old...I so wanted to be like Barbie...but Let’s be real anyone shaped like that would be so top heavy she’d be doing a face plant on the sidewalk every time she tried to walk on her tippy toes! - Let’s be Real!
Ladies, We are often ineffective because we seek our own ways...the ways of either the prideful or the prisoner - We are OFTEN defined by our GARBAGE! We wear it like a garment. We bring into our every day lives so much more than just these silly misrepresentations of what we are told we are supposed to do or be. We bring our own insecurities, our own inferiorities, our own baggage from our hurts, our shame, our sin, our past, our regrets, our self abuse, our blame, our bereavement, our belittling lies, discouragement, our discontent, our dissatisfaction, our anger, agitation, agendas, attitudes, failures, fears and all our troubled history....we come as victims, prisoners and slaves. And with that we expect to be effective in our walk and display of the God we serve. GOD wants to change that! We have an incredible opportunity in Christ to be REDEFINED by GOD - not our Garbage. We could stay though in the old garments couldn’t we. Comfortable in what we know. The new garments, new fit, new style, could be a little different and pull on different areas of us
We have so defined our identity with things that are illegitimate.
our nuts, fruits or vegetables which bring incredible nutrition to our daily lives. WE NEED an EXCHANGE POLICY unlike any we have ever received. We can turn in our worn out, discarded, ragged, destroyed and torn apart lives, and exchange them for HIS LIFE. GOD is in the BUSINESS of EXCHANGE ---IF---We will come to Him, surrender to Him, Live for HIM!!! If we HOPE in God, He will not disappoint. If we focus our affections, our attention, our aspirations on Him, He will Supply our every need, and exchange / turn our lives in.
that we are not familiar or comfortable with. Maybe the brilliance of those colored garments are not our normal attire...perhaps we are too used to the drab, dark. Transformation is a wonderful thing. It may not be easy, but it is beautiful. Caterpillars are changed at the molecular level and TRANSFORMED into butterflies. they go from crawling on the grown to flying through the air, from sluggishly traipsing on branches and the forest floors to wafting about on gentle breezes, from eating green leaves to being sipping the sweet nectar of flowers. Butterflies also have the distinctly unique job along with bees of pollination without which we would not have any of

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Cor 5:17
Spending time with the Lord is key, because its as we spend time with Him, He makes us into the Ladies He desires of us. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” Rom 12;2
He washes us, cleans us, and gives us new garments of praise to be able to joyfully and graciously live reflecting all of the beauty back to its source.
We need our Spiritual DNA radically altered, which happens at the ALTAR! A surrender to the will and ways of God, a death of ourselves. Without it there is NO resurrection power, no transformation!
All through out the scriptures God used women to show His power of Redefining Wonder. ie., Sarah a barren woman - Gave birth to the nation of God. I want to look a 4 women in old testament - who you may or may not be familiar with. ! TAMAR - a woman whose husband died, and was essentially cast aside, neglected, and avoided by her father in law who was by law then to be responsible for her care. ! RAHAB - a prostitute, well known, perhaps a ‘madam’ known by the upper echelons of the military, governmental officials. Pagan ! RUTH - a moabite, widow, with no one to care for her. A woman who was considered a defiled woman because of her historical ancestry of the nations birth out of incest. living in foreign lands in obscurity - Pagan ! BATHSHEBA - a woman raped by the King/coverup by authorities, whose husband was killed. ! AND YET BECAUSE ALL THESE WOMEN put their HOPE in GOD - HE CHANGED Radically their circumstances - and they were all mentioned in the Lineage of Jesus Christ of Matthew chapter One - In fact, they are the only wives in the blood line passage of scripture mentioned. Think of the Incredible amount of pain, suffering, distress, humiliation, and loss these women suffered.

Now [Jesus] had to go through Samaria. 5 So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph.6 Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. 7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” 11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.” 16 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.” 17 “I have no husband,” she replied.
Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.” 19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” 21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the
27 Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?” 28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” 30 They came out of the town and made their way toward him....
Many Samaritans Believe 39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers. 42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”
Spirit and in truth.”
25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” 26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.” The Disciples Rejoin Jesus
Consider the Woman at the Well in John 4
Here is a a woman that is going to draw water at the well in the HEAT of the day. WHY? Because she is ashamed of her lifestyle, her choices, her baggage, her activities, her sin! She has no doubt been the brunt of jokes and sneers. The source of Gossip. BUT NOW, What a tremendous Exchange - Literally, not just in conversation, but actual exchange - HER LIFE for HIS!!! - THERE IS NO GREATER EXCHANGE POLICY in the universe!!!! She made out well...here is a woman that was ostracized, snickered at, gossiped about, shunned and scolded. Here is a woman that hid away, avoided contact with these other women, had no support system and probably the lowest self esteem possible. She had some understanding of the God of Israel, she had some understanding that she was in sin, but had no power to change where she was at. SHE WAS NOT OFFENDED by the fact that Jesus KNEW EVERYTHING she ever did..She was not offended that Jesus agreed with that she wasn’t in the best of situations, .in fact it was a comfort to her. SHE WAS DESPERATE for a change! SHE DIDNT have to live that way anymore, she didn’t have to hide. She could be set free from the PRISON she lived within. a Prison she placed her self in, no one else’s fault, no one else had the power to release her. PRIOR to her encounter - AFTER her encounter, she was CHANGED - to the point where this woman who choose to avoid everyone in town, headed right into the crowd to boldly proclaim who she encountered. No SHAME, No Regrets, No hinderance - She was flying, she had been washed clean, she was wearing new garments, she was drinking of the sweet honey from the Rose of Sharon, She was refreshed by the LIVING WATER, the Source of NEW TRANSFORMATIONAL LIFE! This woman used to run from the taunts, now she ran head first/strong into the very crowd that in times past ridiculed her. THAT’s a Powerful life. That’s an effective Life, That’s an Abundant Life The wonder of His LOVE, the Power of His Washing, the beauty of HIS Transformation! Its RADICAL - Its IMPACTING - and there is always a residual impact zone, where the splash back of the displaced earth leaves an indelible, impression on the face of the one impacted, like a meteorite that impacts the surface of the earth or moon. That Splash zone is broad because much is displaced with just a little piece from the heavens
Where are you at? Are you feeling ridiculed, ostracized, shameful, neglected, cast aside, hurt and beaten, robbed from or powerless? Are you feeling like a prisoner, a slave or a victim Do you want to Exchange YOUR Life for HIS and Be Transformed into something COMPLETELY NEW? www.GraciousVine.com (c) 2013 Joanna Fruhauf
