Ms. Brenda enters a well lit diner during midday rush. As soon as she enters the diner she begins to scan for Robyn. Robyn yells, Ms. Brenda! Ms. Brenda! Over here! Ms. Brenda instantly spots a waving Robyn sitting in a booth table thats located next to a window. Ms. Brenda calmly walks over to the booth in such a classy manner where Robyn is sitting. Robyn stands to greet Ms. Brenda with a big, loving hug. Ms. Brenda is wearing such a loving smile on her face as shes holding Robyn tightly in her arms. Ms. Brenda says, Where have you been, sweetie? We miss you so much at church. A smiling Robyn says, Around. Lets sit.

The two ladies take a seat across from one another in their booth. Ms. Brenda is wearing such an enormous smile with her rosy, brown cheeks. Robyn is forcing to hold a fraudulent smile on her face as she sits across from Ms. Brenda. Ms. Brenda says, Did you hear about Deacon Eddie? Robyn reluctantly says, Yeah. Shame, huh? Ms. Brenda says, Yes, I cant believe it. He was such a great man. So what have you been up to, baby? Robyn says, Nothing much. Life has been kind of hectic for me. UmMs. Brenda, I have something to tell you. Ms. Brenda says, Whats wrong, baby? Are you okay? Robyn smirks then calmly takes a big gulp and then says, Im-Im pregnant. Ms. Brenda smiles extremely hard with excitement in her eyes as Robyn stares at her with a somber facial expression. Ms. Brenda says, OMG! Did I say it right? Robyn says, Say what? Ms. Brenda says, OMG? Robyn says, Yes. Ms. Brenda says, OMG! I am gonna be a grand mom! Does C.J. know? Robyn says, Yes he does but it might not his. Ms. Brendas smile instantly disappears and intensely stares at Robyn as Robyn slowly lowers her head. Brenda says, What do you mean? Robyn says, This might not be your sons child. Ms. Brenda says, Who the hell baby is it then?! Robyn slowly glares out of the window next to their table with a blank facial expression. Ms. Brenda says,

Robyn, are you listenin to me?! Do you hear me?! Robyn mumbles, Deacon Eddies. Ms. Brenda leans her ear towards Robyn as Robyn is wearing a sad facial expression. Ms. Brenda says, What did you just say? Robyn says, Deacon Eddie. Ms. Brenda says, What about him?! Robyn says, He could be the father of my unborn child. Ms. Brenda franticly shakes her head as she says, No. No. No. No. No! Robyn says, Ms. Brenda, let me explain, please. The Deacon and I were seeing one another. We started off as friends and Ms. Brenda says, God damnmit! Not with Deacon Eddie, thats not right. Do not tarnish his damn name, Robyn! And you cheated on my son?! Robyn says, No its not like that. We were separated! Plus, your sweet boy isnt no saint! He was seeing two women while we were together. Deacon Eddie was there for me and one thing led to another. Ms. Brenda says, Youre lyin! Youre lyin! Robyn says, I am not lying, I swear to God! Ms. Brenda says, Dont you dare! Do not bring God into this! Why are you tryin to drag Eddies name through the mud?! Robyn says, Im not! Why dont you believe me?! I am telling you the truth! I loved him and he loved me! Ms. Brenda slams her open palm onto the surface of their table, knocking over her glass of water. Ms, Brenda says, God dammit! Shot with the bullshit! The waiter awkwardly approaches the table with a nervous smile and then says,

Is everything okay over here? Ms. Brenda says, Yes. Please go away. Robyn says, What do you want me to say? I am being honest with you, I cant change the past. I cant help who I love. You of all people should understand that. Ms. Brenda points her right index finger in Robyns face and then says, Dont! Just dont! Robyn says, I loved two men you care for, why cant you just be happy and help me in my time of need? Dont be mad at me, Ms. Brenda. I really need you. I dont know what to do, I feel so alone. Ms. Brenda says, You pulled down a good man to be a lustin heathen and you toyed with my sons emotion. I am not mad at you, I just pitty you. Youre so fuckin pathetic. Robyn gasps in heartbreak as her eyes grow wide and then begins to water with tears. Robyn calmly says, Ms. Brenda?...I though you love me? Ms. Brenda says, I do love you. My rage is leadin my wordsOh God. Ms. Brenda puts her right hand over her mouth as tears slowly rolls down her face as Robyn cries as well. Ms. Brenda says, I gotta go. Im sorry. Ms. Brenda quickly leaves their table and races out of the main entrance to the diner, leaving Robyn at the table crying in her hands as theyre covering her face. Two Days Later. Robyn is holding her cellular phone to her left ear as shes walking around her apartment. Robyn receives Ms. Brendas voicemail. Robyn says, Hey Ms. Brenda, just calling to say hi and wanting to see what youve been up to. Maybe I could cook you dinner tonight. Let me know what you think of that. Call me back please. Love you. Robyn ends her call with Ms. Brendas voicemail.

Three Days Later. Robyn is holding her cellular phone to her left ear as shes nervously pacing around her apartment wearing a look of anxiety. Robyn receives Ms. Brendas voicemail. Robyn says, Hey. Just want to make sure youre okay. Call me back please. I love you. Bye. Robyn ends her call with Ms. Brendas voicemail. Three Days Later Ms. Brenda and three other African-American older women are talking to one another in their church basement. All of the women are happily conversing with one another until Robyn approaches the group wearing a big smile of her face. Robyn says, Hey Ms. Brenda! Have you been getting my messages? Ms. Brenda says, Yup. Talk to you later, ladies. Robyn says, Ms. Brenda? Ms. Brenda? Ms. Brenda turns her back on Robyn and walks away from her wearing a emotionless facial expression. The group of women disperses after Ms. Brenda walks away from Robyn as Robyn stands looking on in awe at the fact that Ms. Brenda is walking away from her. People are staring at Robyn as theyre whispering about her. Robyn franticly darts her eyes around the room at all of the people who are staring at her. She then slowly makes her way to the stairs of the basement only to quickly pace through the churchs chapel then she exits the church in tears. Robyn enters her apartment as shes wiping her eyes clean. She goes to place her purse on her side table. Someone knocks at her front door only for her to be startled by it. Robyn yells out, Ah! Who is it? Man says, Delivery. Robyn opens her front door and a man in a black hat and jacket hands her a regular size brown box. Robyn says, Thanks. Do I need to sign? Delivery man says, No need. Enjoy ya day. Robyn closes her front door and then walks into her dining room to place the brown box on her dining room table. She opens the box only to find a hand written letter that says,

Dear Robyn, If you have received this letter then I am long gone. I apologize for my hasty departure from this world. There are so many things you didnt know about me and will never know about me. I prefer my other side stay a mystery to you. All you need to know is that I did love you and all I ever wanted was for you to be happy. I knew from the first moment I saved your life in the airport that I loved you. By now you should know that youre pregnant with my child or his child. If it is my child, I am so sorry that I left you alone with my child in this cold, cold world. I hated the double life I was living; I just was doing what I needed to do for my God and country. If I could change my life full of deception I wouldve made a honest life with you. Maybe build a family together. I am very sorry, I didnt plan on loving you the way I did. I hope you will miss me because I will miss you wherever I might end up. Youll never need to worry about raising our child; in the box is what is left to my estate; my homes, my bank accounts and everything else. This is all yours now because I love you and you deserve the greatest. Hopefully in my rest youll find someone that deserves you, sunshine. I will always love you. Goodbye for now. Xoxoxoxoxoxo, Deacon Edward Williams. Tears are slowly rolling down the face of Robyn as shes wearing a radiant smile. She places the letter on her table. She then found deeds, paperwork, files, stacks of hundred dollar bills, and credit cards all in the brown box from Deacon Eddie. Robyn smiles as tears are rolling down her beautiful face. Robyn whispers, Thank you so much. I love you too, Deacon Eddie.
