I got to know this sport in 1998 thanks to my friend who was interested in it. At that time it was only in its beginnings and it was something new. We used to travel abroad to get new information, mainly to Thailand. I tried a lot of similar sports such as judo, karate, jeet kune do and wing chun, but the choice of Thai Box was the right one. Muay Thai is full-contact sport where the fighter uses eight limbs (fists, elbows, knees and feet). Its advantage is complexness of the system and its flexibility. You are acoach in the sport club AC UNIZA. Why do you like coaching? I enjoy teaching the students of our club. Coaching is amission, away how to educate the youth. For adults it represents mainly an active relaxing, conditioning and self-defence. You have been awarded during your sport career many times. Which one do you appreciate most? The bronze medal from the World Championship 2003 in Bangkok, but out of this I highly appreciate the victory over Rudo Durica, one of the most successful Slovak thai boxers. My most difficult experience was in Cambodia where the real champions live. Muay Thai is actually one of the hardest and most popular sports not only in Slovakia. It can be practised by all ages and genders. It is considered as one of the best fat burners. Of course, it depends on the coach and his way of leading and motivating students.

It came to Slovakia by the end of the nineties. It has almost 700-yearlong history in its home country, strict rules and rituals connected with Buddhism religion. Thai box, or Muay Thai, is one of the hardest sports which our colleague Daniel Popovic from the General Affairs team is fond of.
