OPENINGS & EXPANSIONS Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa Opens $300 Million Resort Hotel

Exactly two years and one day after ofcially breaking ground on its new resort hotel, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians marked a major milestone in their history with the spectacular grand opening of the new Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa. The new $300 resort hotel, which was built next to the tribe's wildly popular casino, is the rst hotel the tribe has ever built. This is a triumph for our people; a dream of epic proportions that through many years of hard work has finally come true, said Tribal Chairman Richard M. Milanovich. We are so pleased to share this evening with our friends, colleagues and the community. The transformation of Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa into a full-service resort, hotel, conference center and spa is a major milestone for the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. The project has created approximately 350 jobs and has raised the bar on luxury gaming in Southern California. The hotel features 340 graciously-appointed guestrooms, a rejuvenating spa, pool and cabana complex, plus a high-tech conference center. A 2,000-seat headline entertainment venue is also under construction and set to open in December 2008. Nearly 3,000 guests gathered to celebrate the grand opening. The special, invitation-only gala was lled with a fantastic array of entertainment, ne dining and tours of the exquisite hotel and spa. Beloved actor and casino spokesman John O'Hurley served as master of ceremonies, keeping the party in laughter throughout the evening. I am addicted to three things: ambiance,

elegance, and humor, O'Hurley said. With the creative team of Agua Caliente I have found a home for all three. The opening ceremony began with a traditional performance by the tribe's Cahuilla Bird Singers and was followed with remarks by Tribal Chairman Milanovich, Chief Operating Ofcer David Fendrick, Mayor of Rancho Mirage Ron Meepos, and Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack. After a few more words of thanks and welcome, Tribal Chairman Milanovich ofcially launched a whirlwind of sensational entertainment. An internationally renowned, interactive entertainment troupe took to the stage next to a fantastic water and laser show. An incredible fireworks display followed, delivering on the resort's promis to redene spectacular.

The west side of the lobby will have oor to ceiling windows that will look to a landscaped courtyard that will also serve as an outside event area. Immediately adjacent to the new hotel reception area is the day spa, The River Rock. The 5,000 sq. ft. spa will provide traditional spa services, such as massages and signature treatments, as well as beauty salon services. The Gathering Place, a 250-seat buffet restaurant, is part of the new addition supported by a state-of-the-art kitchen that will include blast chillers and slow cookers. The 154 new hotel rooms will include twelve suites, all of which will be located on the fth oor.The new standard142 hotel rooms will each be 400 sq. ft., 50 sq. ft. larger than an existing hotel room at Seven Feathers Hotel & Casino Resort. Suites will be approximately 600 sq. ft. and have a refrigerator, safe, two at paneled TV's, wi- and DSL access. Chairman Shaffer says, In investing in these additional 154 hotel rooms, the tribe is investing in 109 new jobs for Douglas County. And Seven Feathers will be even better able to serve as a hub with good access to the Oregon Coast and the mountains. Architects for the hotel addition are Ankrom Moison of Portland and Seattle. Seven Feathers Hotel & Casino resort is constructing a 135,781 sq. ft. addition which will include 154 hotel rooms, a day spa, and a 250-seat buffet restaurant. Additionally, 6,509 sq. ft. of the existing resort will be renovated. According to Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians' Chairman Sue Shaffer, the Cow Creek's rst dedication is to the people of Douglas County, Whenever we can bring something to Douglas County that brings people here and keeps people here, we want to do it. Our mission has always been one of dedication to Douglas County which is our homeland. The ve-story addition will run parallel to the existing 58 Indian Gaming
