Also, added the version history section in this update. 10/07/05: Version - 0.80 This was the first version to be uploaded. Contained half of the game's quest scrolls and brief information on what they are.

.__________________________________________. .__________________________________________________________________________. --==[ QUEST SCROLLS - QSC1 ]==-.__________________________________________________________________________. .__________________________________________.

Ah, finally! We're actually talking about gameplay now! A logical beginning would be the scrolls themselves. What are they? Well, don't fret, the game does an adequete job at explaining the scrolls themselves. But, if you still have some unsure feelings, I can clear a few of those up. To begin, scrolls are the glittering pieces of parchment that hover above the ground. To help you find them, they shoot magical laser beams into the sky. Ok, maybe not lasers, but it's some divine marking system, K? Anyway, just zoom in relatively close to the scroll until your hand shows a mouse with the left button yellow. Click the scroll and you'll initiate the quest! Here are the specifics:

.__________________________________________. GOLD SCROLLS - QSC2 .__________________________________________. Gold scrolls are used for only one grand purpose in the game: teleport. They bring you to the next land. In other words, they progress the story. Simple enough. Since gold scrolls result in inreversable actions (you can't teleport backwards), they all require to be double clicked. First you click on it, then listen to your advisors give a standard speech, then click on it again. You'll be whisking off to your new location in no time! The only exception to this golden rule is world three when you learn how to build. Here, the first few teaching quests are golden rather than bronze, signifying they are unskippable tutorials. .__________________________________________. SILVER SCROLLS - QSC3 .__________________________________________. Ah, the meat of the FAQ. Silver scrolls are unique from the other two in that they create new objectives. You can view your current list of objectives by clicking the scroll icon in your toolbar. Every land has a preset number of objectives to fulfill -- the only required one being to eliminate your opponent through war or culture. The other objectives are optional but recommend as the tribute allows further reward to be unlocked. Silver scroll objectives are particularly nice as they offer much more tribute -- much more rewards! This FAQ is about these silver scroll quests. .__________________________________________. BRONZE SCROLLS - QSC4 .__________________________________________. Finishing off our series of medal-themed scrolls is the bronze scroll. Bronze scrolls are tutorial scrolls are rarely seen after the first few worlds. They are highly similar to silver scrolls in that they create new objectives, but these objectives offer little reward. The point of them isnt' to take away tribute but rather to learn how to play the game. After your first play through you can probably skip these. Veteran BW1 players might be able to skip these, but the slightly different interfaces may cause confusion so it is recommended to try them out. .__________________________________________. TRIBUTE - QSC5 .__________________________________________. Tribute is the reward for completing objectives and quests. Early in the

game, tribute may seem worthless. However, as soon as you have access to the toolbar, you can buy new buildings, miracles, creature abilites, and wonders using tribute! Since tribute is only acquired by conquering towns, impressing towns, or completing quests, don't waste it! If you plan on being a certain alignment, don't bother buying items you know you won't use! By doing this, you can save points for the more expensive items like the wonders or master creature trainings.

.__________________________________________. .__________________________________________________________________________. --==[ WORLD 1: Egyptian Nomads - WR10 ]==-.__________________________________________________________________________. .__________________________________________.

World 1 is a land of beauty and grace. You wake from your divine sleep on an island populated by nomadic Egyptians. Here you will acquire your beast and learn the basics of basics. Enjoy your relaxing stay here, as it will soon become much more hectic! .__________________________________________. MOVEMENT - WR11 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Starting Cirlce | | REWARD: 0 tribute / 1000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ *note: requires patch 1.1. This scroll offers no objectives nor tribute. Rather, it allows you to skip the movement tutorial. Alternatively, you can click the bronze scroll and learn how to move and earn 1000 tribute. .__________________________________________. DISCIPLES - WR12 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: House near cresent beach | | REWARD: 1000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This is make them forester, soldiers, a bronze scroll quest. You learn how to assign villagers and become your disciples. You only learn how to make 4 types: builder, breeder, and farmer. Later, you can make worshipers, archers, mineworkers and refiners. .__________________________________________. SOME GARDENING - WR13 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Spiral near cresent beach |

| REWARD: 1000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This is another bronze picking them and setting release while moving the release while not moving scroll quest. Here you'll them down. If you want to mouse button. If you want the mouse. Simple enough, learn how to move by throw an object, to set an object down, huh?

.__________________________________________. NOMAD RELOCATION - WR14 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Valley near waterfall | | REWARD: 1000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This quest can be found over the mountain from the starting area. Simply move 5 nomads to the circle. Shouldn't be much trouble at all! Remember, to pick a person up, put the hand over the person and press the left mouse button. Also remember that when putting a person down you must be more careful and not wag the mouse all around or else you might throw the mortal. This will kill him and you will gain evil alignment points. So be sure to let the mouse rest before dropping the nomads in the circle. .__________________________________________. BOULDER PROBLEMS - WR15 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Little hut on cliff | | REWARD: 5000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ Use the skills from the previous quest and pick the boulder. Then simply place it outside of the fence. If you want, you can destroy his house with the boulder as well, but beware, this will cause you to be evil. .__________________________________________. WATEFALL BLOCKED! - WR16 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Island near waterfall | | REWARD: 5000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ Ah, finally a destructive quest! Our little pals the Egyptians have noticed their waterfall is blocked! It's time for some divine intervention to save the day! You are given an unlimited number of rocks, so take this opprotunity to practice your throwing ability. Many quests later on will require you to throw objects with great precision. After you finish practicing, simply hit the rocks with a thrown boulder to win.

.__________________________________________. .__________________________________________________________________________. --==[ WORLD 2: Aztec Invasion - WR20 ]==-.__________________________________________________________________________. .__________________________________________.

This world actually does not have any silver scrolls. Rather, you are faced with a series of objectives. Simply complete the objectives and move onto the next land. You shouldn't have much trouble as the advisors will give you all the instructions you need and you won't have to go hunt the locations down. You'll leave the land with roughly 20,000 tribute for completing these misc tasks.

.__________________________________________. .__________________________________________________________________________. --==[ WORLD 3: The Norse - WR30 ]==-.__________________________________________________________________________. .__________________________________________.

Oh goody, the norse! chance to rebuild your world three quests are You still get tribute, multitude of subjects, which is restablishing

Welcome to the cold lands -- lands you'll get a civilization after the aztec invasion. Majority of required. Thus these are actually gold scrolls. though! Although these gold scrolls cover a I bunched them all up into one grand category, your village.

.__________________________________________. RE-ESTABLISHING THE VILLAGE - WR31 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Grain field near start | | REWARD: 30,0000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This shouldn't be too difficult. Simple click and hold on the grain field to suck up all the grain. Then click once over the storehouse to drop it in. Wowee! This is a really basic method of feeding your people, but occassionally you may have to rely on it. Later, you'll have farmers to do this micromanagement for you. And even later, your creature can help out too! Continuing the previous tutorial is creating farmers. If you did the bronze scroll quest in world 1, you already know what to do. Here, simply place a citizen on the field to create a farmer. Listen to your advisor and then place two more farmers. Done! Later, when you have much larger cities and fields, be sure to place more than three farmers! Another basic resource gathering task. This time you must rip out some

trees and place them in your storehouse. Two average trees will finish the job. Conveniently for you, the advisors have highlighted which trees to use! Just do it and be done with it. Foresters... Again, if you did the bronze scroll quest in world 1, this shouldn't difficult at all. Either way, it's just too easy! Pick up some civilians and put them by trees to make them a forester. They'll get a nice little green aura to tell you that their job is that. Again, like farmers, growing civilizations need more foresters; be sure to place more foresters when you need more wood! Next, it's time to make yet another disciple. After placing a few villas, your advisor will instruct you to make a builder. To do so, pick up a person and place him or her next to an uncompleted building. Later, you can also make builders by putting them next to damaged buildings, and they will repair them. Now, continue construction of your brand new city. After learning how to place buildings, you'll be instructed to place 12 blueprints. From there, you'll need to finish them. Your villagers will do 4-5 and then your advisor will drop on in and instruct you on god building. To quickly finish the rest of the quest, just god build the remaining buildings. With all these new buildings, it's time to populate them! Make three breeders by placing three villagers next to each other. This only works if they are of opposite gender, for obvious reasons. After doing this, you'll get another objective to breed until you have 75 citizens. This can take a while, so feel free to begin the next objective which will start shortly after. .__________________________________________. USING THE TOOLBAR - WR32 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Grain field near start | | REWARD: 30,0000 tribute* | +------------------------------------------+ *The tribute reward is a compilation of both this and the previous tutorials. From there, the reward is a combination of all the tribute you'll receive for doing each individual task. You will now learn how to use the toolbar. Simply click the button in the lower left area of the screen and listen to the advisor. Open and close tabs when necessary. Not too difficult. Also, now that you have access to the toolbar, you can view your total tribute points by clicking the coins button or pressing F4. The tutorial will do a nice job at explaining the tribute area, but if you need more help with it, scroll up. You'll be asked to build a temple next. Buy the blueprints with the tribute menu and then begin construction. Here you'll learn about ore and mineworkers. Think back to the farmers and foresters part of the tutorial if you have trouble assigning mineworkers. Just build the temple with either god building or with builders. After building the temple, one of the norse towns will begin to migrate to your village. Once it arrives, accept the migration. Most likely this will also finish off your population requirement objective. When this

happens, you'll begin learning the eviller side to conquering the lands, which is none other than war! Buy an armory, build it, and make an army. Nothing too difficult. Then, go out and conquer a nearby village... bwaha hahaha! Doing this will end the first tutorial, onwards to the creature one! .__________________________________________. CREATURE TUTORIAL - WR33 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Creature Pen in original town | | REWARD: 10,0000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ Wow! In comparison to the previous tutorial, this one is nothing! It takes a grand 30 seconds to do for a whopping 10,000 tribute. First, wake up your creature by clicking on the gold scroll. Then, learn how to use the leesh and make him step outside of his pen. Then go feed your creature. Finally, teach him to either a) like to eat villagers or b) not like to eat villagers. You may be thinking "what's the point of such a short tutorial?" Well, you know everything you practically need to know about your creature! I recommend using this time to teach your creature to do certain things, as you have no enemies threatening your right now. My recommendations: 1. For a good creature, train it to gather resources, help build, and entertain the villagers. Make sure it only sleeps in his pen and don't have it do anything mean. You can, however, get by with it learning how to fight as if you do enough good deeds, defending the village won't affect its alignment too much. 2. Some neutral tasks you should teach no matter what are to have it fertilize fields and trees and to weight lift with rocks. Also, buy a toy for your beast. Note that certain toys give certain alignments, though! 3. Evil things you can teach him is to eat villagers, destroy things, poo on villagers, and do misc mean things. Also, make it much more ruthless at fighting by keeping it in the soldier leesh at all times. You beast will have no free will, but it'll be really evil. .__________________________________________. BUILD A ROAD - WR34 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Between pen and town center | | REWARD: 2000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This is actually another bronze scroll quest. You'll be taught on how to build roads. Do so and earn your tribute. I can't belive they gave us tribute for such an easy task... .__________________________________________.

OBJECTIVES PANEL - WR35 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Next to storehouse | | REWARD: 0 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This explains the objectives menu. Pay attention as all the quests that are not found in scrolls automatically start here. For world 3, the quest you can do that isn't scroll-started is click on all the signs. Go ahead and find them all. The tribute award is also listed in the objective panel for any quest, scroll started or not. .__________________________________________. CHANGE THE TIME - WR36 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Cliff near storehouse | | REWARD: 2000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ Doing this tutorial is required to unlock a later silver scroll quest in this world. Here you'll learn how to change the time of day, an important feature. Your mortals will do things based on the symbols on the time chart. They are pretty easy to figure out. Starting with the sun symbol: daybreak, work time, leisure time, sleeping time / night time. When you need things made, set it to work time. When your mortals complain about needing sleep or free time, set it to the appropriate times. Not messing with time will set an automatic balance, but balance may not suit your current needs, so be sure you understand how to use this system. .__________________________________________. SILENCE THE ROOSTER - WR37 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Sleeping man near mountain | | REWARD: 10,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This is only available if know how to change the time with a rooster problem. Do night to day and back again you completed the previous quest. Once you of the day, you can help out a sleeping hermit as the advisors say: change the time from several times and the rooster will get hoarse.

.__________________________________________. PRATERNITY SUIT - WR38 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: House just outside of town | | REWARD: 20,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This is an easy but painfully slow quest. First, listen to a man spread

obvious lies about your name. I mean, come on, out with the guy just off camera! When he gets will have already left so she decides to hobble follow her until she walks into the house (it's

you can see the girl making done talking, her boyfriend on over to his house. Just random each time).

When she arrives, your advisors will say a few things. From there, go back to the girl's home and pick up her father. Drop him in front of the boyfriends house and he will feel ashamed for accusing you. If nothing happens, make sure you are picking up the right person or you are dropping the person in the right spot. Robert S. Michael C. and David L. have submitted an alternative method for completing this quest. If you don't want to wait for the slow girl to walk to her boyfriends, simply give her dad some wood, just as he asks. You'll get the same amount of tribute! It only requires roughly 1000 to 2000 wood, too.

.__________________________________________. .__________________________________________________________________________. --==[ WORLD 4: Norse Revisited - WR40 ]==-.__________________________________________________________________________. .__________________________________________.

You rebuilt your civilization on one of the outlying norse worlds, but now it's time to really conquer them. You can do this in one of two ways: either impress all their cities or wage war and make them your own. Either way works; just remember they both affect your alignment! If you plan on going the neutral route, be sure to do a combination of both. It's usually easier to impress the little towns and then wage war with the bigger ones. .__________________________________________. USE CREATURE ROLES - WR41 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Creature Pen | | REWARD: 1000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ Another tutorial bronze quest. Simply learn how to use the leeshes to assign your creature various roles. Easy quest and pitiful reward, how surprising!! .__________________________________________. BUILD A WALL - WR42 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Near uncompleted wall | | REWARD: 1000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+

Yet another bronze scroll quest. This time you need to build a wall to defend your village. I guess the norse are a little angry your conquered their other world. So, build a wall to protect yourself against the legions of norsemen! Follow the tutorial's instructions. However, you won't get the tribute until the wall is actually completed a while later. .__________________________________________. MIRACLES - WR43 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Inside of your first altar | | REWARD: (6000) tribute | +------------------------------------------+ Once you've built worshipper disciple opprotunity to also objectives and earn an altar, you can start casting miracles. Make a and earn some mana. Then water a field. Use this water some trees. By doing so you'll fulfill 2 start 6000 tribute.

.__________________________________________. NUT OIL - WR44 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: On the frozen islands | | REWARD: 20,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ Ah, a silver scroll quest! This one can be a little challenging if you aren't too talented at throwing objects. Fortunately, you get as many tries as you need, so don't worry and don't give up. To begin, throw the barrel from the first island to the second, it's marked by a golden light. This is an easy throw -- just straight ahead. Your goal is to just get it on the next island; from there you can pick up and drop repeatedly until it's close enough. The next throw uses ahead. Be careful to it falling. That can get it on the land so an almost identical strategy. Just throw it straight not throw too far, you'll be facing a long watch of get unpleasant and annoying fast. Again, just try to you can pickup/drop it into the golden aura.

The final time can be difficult. At first it looks like you have to throw it over an entire mountain! If you try doing that, you'll always throw it either too hard and it'll go way past the island, or not hard enough and it will hit the mountain side. You can either do one of those things: look to your left and go the way you came from, or look to your right and bring the barrel up to a little cliff. I always choose the latter. From the little cliff, shoot directly towards an island with a large mountain, but has a little flat land in front of it. Your goal is to hit the mountain side and have the barrel roll onto the flat land. From there, pickup/drop the barrel into the golden aura! Dan H. has submitted you control the land. from any point! Makes are not so talented at an alternative solution! Simply wait until after Then you can simply pick up and drop the barrel this quest go much faster for those of you that throwing.

.__________________________________________. UNDEAD LEGION - WR45 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Skull Rock at Night | | REWARD: 20,000 tribute | | 12 Undead Soldiers | +------------------------------------------+ To unlock this quest, first visit the skull rock during the day. To find it, go to the norse capital and then go immediately east into a small valley. Here you'll find a skull rock with many tombs. Your advisor will say he doesn't want to be here at night. Take the hint and change the time to night and the scroll will appear. The quest is simple. Put your mouse ontop of the little torches and light them in order of death. If you have trouble figuring this out, just light them in this order: Bottom left, Top right, Top Left, Bottom right, Top Middle. A cutscene will happen and you get an undead army! Dan H. has submitted a hint on these special soldiers. To take special advantage of the Undead's experience, have your regular armies merge into the Undead and they will get all the benefits! Now you can turn a 150 man inexperienced platoon instantly into the most powerful force in the land. To merge, simply hold the army's flag over the Undead and wait until it says "merge" and then let go.

Konichiwa! Welcome to the fertile plains of the Japanese world, a peaceful, sunny land. Your foe this time around doesn't feel like doing much battle; he prefers to sit cooped up in his city! You have two options, as always. Send your little armies to invade his fortress or try to out impress him. Be wary, both tasks may be harder than you think! As he builds a more impressive city, you have to work even hard to make yours better. Or, if you plan to go the evil route, he'll just cast his epic miracle: the siren. Say goodbye to your armies! Fortunately, there are some easy ways to beat him. Having your platoons broken into several small ones will get around his siren miracle and he eventually stops building his city making out impressing him a realistic goal as well. So, what are you waiting for? Get started! .__________________________________________. MONK TEST - WR51

.__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Ledge near your capital | | REWARD: 40,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This can be either really difficult or really easy. If you've never used hand force before, you might be a little confused at what to do. Well, first, make sure you buy the ability from the tribute menu. Then, I recommend practicing a bit first. Hold down the action button when not selecting anything; your hand will begin to glow and you will hear a holy aura like noise. When you hear that, the hand force has been activated. From there, just move your mouse around: light swings will brush objects and heavy swings will punch. When doing the quest, use heavy swings. You'll know you're doing it right when the hand makes a fist. Then, attack the boulder the monk is about to punch. DO NOT do it side to side, you're more likely to take too much time in each swing and it won't work. Rather, do very short and quick "in-out" moves by moving the mouse forward and backward from you. If you're doing it correctly and fast enough, the boulder will begin to smoke. If it's smoking enough when the monk punches it, it'll crumble and he'll move onto the next one. Note: you get two tries for the first boulder. After that, you only get one try per boulder, so make them count!

.__________________________________________. SAVE THE LAMBS - WR52 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Pasture next to Japan Capital | | REWARD: 40,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This is an easy quest. Some weird herder has a fat sheep, so fat that it's going to have 25 babies! Your job is to catch these projectiled young and keep them alive. To catch them, use the same general idea of picking up an non-moving object, but this time just on the sheep! I haven't test for an exact number but it appears as long as you save atleast 18 lambs, you will get the full tribute. .__________________________________________. FOREST AMBUSH - WR53 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Small island with big forest | | REWARD: 40,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ I hope you're lucky as pretty much the entire thing relies on it. The enemies are as predictable as you can make them. You control your spy and the enemies by using these little road signs. Sounds simple enough, eh? Well, there are a few problems. There are a total of 5 ambushers to attack you, so be sure you watch out for them all. Also, they are all faster

than your spy, so if you're being chased he's probably going to win. Finally, the road signs randomly will change after being taken, so don't rely on them staying the way they are forever. Keeping all of this in mind, you should be able to collect all 4 pieces of glowing paper. The order I find to be the easiest is: Northeast, then Northwest, then Southwest, and finally Southeast. You have to go out of your way on the first one, but it allows you to walk right on by majority of the ambushers; they'll never catch up this way. Dan H. has submitted a hint for this quest. If you burn or tear out all the trees, it can be much easier to see where the guards are. This in turn makes it much easier to control them with signs!

.__________________________________________. .__________________________________________________________________________. --==[ WORLD 6: Military Japan - WR60 ]==-.__________________________________________________________________________. .__________________________________________.

Now it's time to fight the other brother. While the previous was intent on out building you, this brother is much more war focused. Don't be too surprised to be attacked within the first 3 minutes! Get up those walls and get some archers on em, you'll need em. Also, be sure to use your creature to destroy any of the catapults. Even if you're playing as a good god, your creature can quickly negate any catapult killing with a simple grain gather or villager entertain. .__________________________________________. NUT OIL, PART 2 - WR61 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Right next to your town | | REWARD: 40,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ You must complete Nut Oil in World 4 for this quest to be available. The premise is almost the same, you're still throwing objects. This time you are throwing exploding barrels and trying to hit a torch. You must be much more accurate. You only get 8-10 tries per torch, so you have some leeway room but don't joke around! If you fail on torch 2 or 3, you have to start all the way over. The general strategy is to not throw it too hard. It's easier to work your way towards it than it work your way backwards. Why? Because you judge how much more you need to swing easier. Anyway, the distances are in this order: Medium - Long - Short. That's all I can really do, as everyone throws a bit different. Goodluck! Ryushi and Dan H. have sent in a nice work-around for those of you having trouble completing this quest. Wait until after you beat the land to start it. From there, you have global influence... this means you can

drop the barrels from wherever you want! So, simply pick up the barrel and drop it on the torch. Thanks Ryushi! .__________________________________________. CURE THE SICK - WR62 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Village at Center of Land | | REWARD: 40,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This is another hand forcing quest. You must be quick on your feet, err, your mouse to finish this. Using the lighter of the two hand forces (not the fist but the extended fingers one), rub off the sickness of the town folk. Be warned, if you are too slow the sickness will come back! A second solution is to wait until after you've beaten the land and then start the quest. Now you can just multi-pickup all the town citizens that are sick and shake your mouse until all of the sickness is gone. You might find this easier or harder, depending on if you need to impress this town or not to win. Michael C. has submitted an additional hint. He says to do this quest early or else it will be incompletable. Do it before they decide to migrate or else they will magically remove their sickness and you won't be able to cure them. This will render the quest impossible. Thus, be sure to do the quest early to avoid this problem. Hopefully a patch will fix this in the future! .__________________________________________. ARCHAEOLOGISTS - WR63 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Small island opposite of enemy | | REWARD: 40,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This is a five-step quest. First of all, make sure you have the hand forcing ability, as used in a few previous quests. In this quest, you're trying to find a hidden ruin (well, it's not all that hidden. If you move to the other side of the island, the tower is in plain view!). You help out by uncovering the map runes. The first is said to be in the dig site. To find it, lightly brush with the hand force on the dirt. If you do broad strokes, it won't be as effective. Eventually you'll begin to see a faded rune appear. Once that happens, quickly rub the area until the rune is really bright. It will tell the location of the second rune. The second rune is by a lone tree. You can find it on the hill directly by the first one. If you're having trouble finding the exact tree, it's the only tree that you cannot pick up. The rune isn't far from the tree, so make sure you're rubbing in the right spot. The third rune is found by a lone boulder. Again, like the previous rune, it's by the only non-moveable rock. You'll find the rock on the

beach in the opposite direction from the tree. (Its still on the island, so don't go searching in the wrong spots!) Jove points out that this is also only possible at night. If it's day time, use the time changing function and make it night time! The final rune is between the boulder and the tree. Go to the first rune you dug up. Then, if facing the tree, move directly left. You'll be on a hill now. The final rune is on this hill (it's covered in a darker dirt color). Here's a rough sketch of all the runes: / / | 3 | | \ | \ \ 4 / \________/ 1

_____. | | \ \

After finding the final rune, your last step is to remove some rocks blocking the steps to the tower. Move them out of the way and boom, quest done! Now, that wasn't so difficult, was it? .__________________________________________. SEVEN SAMURAI - WR64 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Pedestal opposite of capital | | REWARD: 40,000 tribute | | 7 Japanese Soldiers | +------------------------------------------+ This quest is a lot like hide-and-go-seek; you're it. Find seven statues of dead samurai hidden throughout the land. Not to difficult, eh? Well, some of these are actually well hidden and might put you up to a difficult task. No fear, I'm here! You're looking for the color spectrum (think science class): Red, Orange, Yellow Green, Blue, Purple, and Violet. Don't forget this order, it's the order you place the statues in later on! Oh, since there is no defined direction in the game, I'm going to set one right now. If you were to go the Japanese capital and face their town center so you are parallel with their main road, consider that facing north. Here's the list of locations: RED: South of your capital on a medium sized island. If you follow a series of islands, it's the very last one. The statue is on the southern side of the island. ORANGE: Far east of Japanese capital near a walled city. Look on the cliffs. You'll know you're close when the advisors say something. YELLOW: Go to the Japanese capital town center and then go directly behind that mountain. It'll be near the top on the north side. GREEN: Go to the sick village and head northwest. It's resting on the cliffs near the sea. BLUE: Follow the penisula from the starting part of the quest.

PURPLE: It's near the first torch found in the quest "Nut Oil, Part 2." If you don't know where that is since you cannot or have not done quest yet, look to the east of your capital and find a small beach. From there, go slightly west and look on the cliffs. VIOLET: Go to the Japanese capital's first gate. From there, position the camera to face East and look to your right. After you have collected all the statues, the advisors will say a few things. From there, go back to the starting area of the quest and put the statues on the pedestals. If facing the pedestals, put red on the far right and violet on the far left, and fill in the rest using the order above. After you put the pedestals in place, you'll get a little cutscene and then a new platoon of soldiers! Dan H. has submitted a hint on these special soldiers. To take special advantage of the Samurai's experience, have your regular armies merge into the samurai and they will get all the benefits! Now you can turn a 150 man inexperienced platoon instantly into the most powerful force in the land.

Aha! You've cornered the Japanese onto their final land! This time you face both brothers, the military and the city builder. Can you withstand a constant barrage of armies and catapults whilst withstanding the epic earthquake? Or will you succumb just as you have a winning streak? If you go the route of evil, get that earthquake wonder out of the picture before you do anything else. And if you go the route of good, try to deceive the earth quake wonder by building trashy clusters as far as you can from your main city. These are easily replaceable and won't mean the end of the world for you, then! .__________________________________________. MONSTER MINE - WR71 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Mine inside of town | | REWARD: 50,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ To activate this quest, have your disciples mine from within both of the mines. Eventually a silver scroll will appear, letting you start this quest. It appears that a monster has infested your mines and is eating anyone who enters. So it's up to you to save the day and remove this indescribable monster!

You can do this in one of two ways. Either way, they both start with using the water miracle. Continually splash the water miracle until your advisors say drowning him won't work as there is an underground river. After that, try one more time and make sure he is laughing. Note, this isn't necessary but it's a fun little gimmick anyway (thanks to Mark L. for this little bit of information) Next, Either send in a very small platoon of experienced soldiers to kill him or do a little nasty trick. If you don't have the platoon, do the trick The trick is, have a meadow somewhere in your city. If you do, a herder will come with some cows, but they will be sick. Put a sick cow infront of the cave and the monster will eat the sick cow. He too will get sick and will die! HAHAHA!! .__________________________________________. SICK COWS - WR72 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Mine inside of town | | REWARD: 5000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ Thanks to Michael C. Mark L. and Jack for informing me about this one! To activate this quest, first complete the previous Monster Mine quest. Remember that herd of sick cows? Well, if you use the heal miracle on them, a new silver scroll will appear! You are given two options: forgive the herder for accusing you or do something a little bit more evil. To forgive him, simply click the silver scroll. Ding! To do something a little more evil, kill all of his cows. He'll say he has learned his lesson and won't do it again. Either way, you'll get your 5000 tribute. Note, after you get the tribute, if you want, you can kill him too!

.__________________________________________. OIL BARRON'S FLAMES - WR73 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Mine inside of town | | REWARD: 50,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ *note: It's easiest to start this quest after beating the land first This quest be a little tricky if you don't have the patience to wait until you conquer this land. The only way to do it otherwise is to conquer the nearby city or build your influence semi-close. From there, simply throw water miracles onto the flames. OR you can just wait until you have beaten the land and then just drop water miracles onto the flames. This is much easier and I recommend doing it this way. Not too difficult, eh? Michael C. David K. David L. and Sam L. have submitted an additional hint. Rather than waiting for complete control of the land, have your creature

put out the flames. Teach him the water miracle then use the leash to send him to the oil barron. When selecting the fires with the leash, it should say extinguish. Your creature will put the fires out and you can get the tribute early!

.__________________________________________. DARK DISCIPLE - WR74 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Town with Idol Statue | | REWARD: 30,000 | +------------------------------------------+ Thanks to Chad R. Erik V. and Dan H. for telling about this missed quest! This question is available at the very start. Rather, to activate it, you must send your armies into the western most village (Samarita), it's the one with the idol statue. After conquering it, your evil advisor will notify you that something is weird about this statue and villagers are worshipping it. You can now either do something about it or send more worshippers. An easy method to finish the quest is to do exactly what the advisor says, put more worshippers in. The statue will then melt and lava will erupt from the ground and will kill the worshippers. However, you get a nice 30,000 tribute reward for doing so! Michael C. has submitted an alternative method. Rather than dumping more worshippers onto the statue, pick up each worshipper (individual, not with mass pick up) and shake them until they snap out of it. They will then tear down the statue and you still get the tribute!

Ooh boy, the Aztecs! You find yourself on what remains of the Egyptian homeworld. Now a new tyrant race rules the land. This is same old same old in comparison to previous levels, but there are a few things to keep an eye out for. The town in the middle has the hurricane epic miracle, so be sure to conquer that city as soon as possible. Fortunately, the town has little defense and doesn't require much to impress, so either method will quickly dispose that threat. After that, just keep an eye out for the occassional catapult but you should be just fine! .__________________________________________. SUNDAIL - WR81

.__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Small rock outside of town | | REWARD: 50,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This quest requires some fast hand skills. It might take a few tries but that massive tribute bonus is definately worth it. What you must do is light all the torches. Simple enough, eh? Well, there is a small catch. The torches must be lit at certain times of the day and they don't stay lit for long! So, how is this possible? Well, think back to some previous quests. Change the time of the day! To find which times to change it to, rest the hand on the torches and find the times. I've found this to be the easiest order: 7-9, 12-1, 6-8, 1-3. The end result is the multicolored torches being lit. Nothing else. Yea, not very grand for all that hard work, but you got the tribute! .__________________________________________. RAIN DANCE - WR82 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Volcanoes outside of town | | REWARD: 30,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ Remember that annoying game when you were a little kid named Simon Says? Well, it's the return of Simon! *evil ominous voice*. This time you must play a special beat for a hippie aztec to save his home from some volcanoes! Yea, doesn't make much sense to me either, but you're a god, so best not worry about these universe paradoxes! He'll play a beat and then you play it back to him. It's randomly generated, so not much to be said here. Just remember to start playing after he says "Groovy, it's your turn!" or something. Starting before might throw you off, which will piss him off and the volcanoes too. .__________________________________________. ISLE OF NYMPHS - WR83 .__________________________________________. | LOCATION: Island in middle of land | | REWARD: 50,000 tribute | +------------------------------------------+ This mysterious island is inhabitated by four women searching for, well, "something". They can't remember what, but they do want you to just give them random things. While you can just scroll down and find what it is, I do recommend trying random things as some of the dialogue is a little humurous. Anyway, what you'll need to do is press the "S" key to turn on villager details. Now, look for a male citizen age 21. The closer you zoom in, the more detail boxes you can see at once, so just search the city. It

might take a while, but it's certainly faster than trying randomly! If you prefer to play around first, try things like trees, rocks, age 30-40 people, age 21 females, and young people. Anyone aged 60 is also pretty funny. Just try random things, they insult everything in a, uh, "nice" way! haha!

.__________________________________________. .__________________________________________________________________________. --==[ WORLD 9: FINAL SHOWDOWN - WR90 ]==-.__________________________________________________________________________. .__________________________________________.

The Aztecs are angry now! Not only have you defeated the Norse and both Japanese brothers, but you've defeated them! You've chased them to their sacraficial altars; this is the final fight! Fortunately, your buds the Japanese have graciously given you their dump, I mean city, for you to use! And a few armies as well. ...yay... anyway, prepare yourself fast! The aztecs won't waste anytime sending forces your way! The real challenge in this map is resource management. All the supplies aren't in your little safety nest. If you plan on raising massive armies or a huge city, you'll need resources AND room. Oh what to do, what to do. Well, your first goal is to remove those minor cities surrounding you. This shouldn't be much of a problem using the space and resources found in your own city. After that, you'll now have much more resources (either by having a new area to mine them yourself or by having immigrants bringing them) so you shouldn't have to worry about that. Rather, it comes down to space. Army raising doesn't require much, but toppling 45,000 impression won't be an easy task. My only suggestion? Build outwards and rebuild those outerwalls as you expand. Outside of that, there Well, perhaps there are, some, please e-mail me! Good luck with defeating aren't any silver scrolls in this land! Oh no! but I haven't found them yet. If you've found Otherwise, this land is just one gigantic battle. the Aztecs once and for all!

Michael C. has submitted some hints on completing this level! Whenever the Aztecs activate the volcano, simply use your water miracle to put out the lava before it reaches your building. This will prevent much of the damage from that nasty epic from happening. Also, after a while has happened, the Norse and the Japanese will arrive and conquer the two side towns, saving you the trouble. Michael isn't sure if this happens only if you win by impressing them earlier on, though. These two side towns have bottomless mines and the town the Japanese conquer has a limitless amount of trees if you water them. Use this to your advantage and you'll quickly win. If you have epics, you should have enough materials to even build duplicates! Finally, Michael suggest getting the fireball spell as it will help greatly when it comes to defense. As he says: "They'll all burn."
