HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

In 1962, San Juan Barrio School was created to meet the increased demands of parents to have a barrio school. Seven classes were organized but were all housed in rented homes. Six classes were located in San Juan proper (Crisostomo Annex) and one class was located and housed in a rented house in MRR. In 1965, three more classes were organized at MRR and in 1966 a two room army type building was constructed under the leadership of councilman Servando de Guzman. The Municipal Government added another room thus making a total of three rooms owned by the government. The office of the Headquarters was situated in a rented room at Crisostomo Annex in the barrio proper. A yearly increase of two classes was organized. In 1968 a 6-room Marcos type building was constructed in St. Francis Subd. San Juan Barrio School has 2 separate building by the year 1969 with one school head. The distance between St. Francis and MRR was quite far and the head teacher of San Juan Barrio School had hard time of supervising the increasing school to place of the two building, thru the help of the new Supervisor, Mrs. Jesusa Tanyag, a teacher in charge was appointed in school thus making independent school now bearing a name of San Juan Elementary School. In 1970 another 6 rooms Marcos type building was constructed at St. Francis but still the school has to rent more rooms to accommodate the yearly increase in enrolment. Due to lack of rooms the school at St. Francis, thru the help of the PTA constructed a temporary 5 rooms shed adjacent to the first Marcos type building. In 1975 the principals of both school were at the same time promoted to other District thus leaving the school to especially appointed teacher in charge. In October 1975, Mr. Servito de Jesus took over San Juan Elementary School and Mrs. Esmenia Reyes took over San Juan Elementary School U-1. In 1978 both school has each Bagong Lipunan Building with three rooms in each building. Another Unit 1 Bagong Lipunan building was constructed with 3 rooms in the year 1980. On November 24 the principal Mr. Servitor C. de Jesus had his stroke right in his office and unluckily he was not able to survive and died on November 28, 1980. In his absence the acting assistance principal Mrs. Rosita Santos took over until a new principal Mrs. Erlinda B. de Leon came on August 4, 1981. Under the supervision of the talented and disciplined principal San Juan Elementary School progressed too much. Enrolment increased. Mrs. De Leon was promoted last 1985. Mrs. Lourdes Ison followed her. Mrs. Lourdes Ison stayed for few years. She was replaced by Mrs. Noemi O. Guerrero.

Under her supervision six-room Rodriguez Building and eight room San Juan building were built. She retired and replaced by Mrs. Susana Abiog on 1994. She hold for a position for a short time only because she was promoted last 1996. Dr. Leticia Ibaez took over her position. Six room Felix building and another 6-room BOD building were constructed in her administration. She transferred to GSIS last 2003. Mrs. Marites Ibaez hold her position and had completion of BOD building. She was promoted at once. Mr. Ernesto B. Discutido replaced her and served for more than three years. In his administration, one roon Filipino Chinese Chamber of commerce, six room DPWH BOD Building, six-room Ynares building and Deep-well water facility were constructed and he had landscaped the surroundings of the Felix Building. He was transferred last November, 2006. Miss Raquel Pion took over his position November, 2006. She had the completion of the DepEd BOD 6-room building. Spearheaded the Feeding Program for the Gr. I-III undernourished pupils, put up schools clinic and had the landscape of the front surroundings of Ynares building. She stayed only up to September 14, 2007. Mr. Leoncio P. Padit takes her place, he is presently the principal managing the school. In his administration, another two types of building have been built, the Duavit with 6 rooms and Ynares with two rooms as well. The school is still improving now a day because of Mr. Padits satisfying administration.
