We just returned from a fabulous week at Bibis Garden. The rooms are big and clean and the breakfast was very good, especially the pancakes with maple syrup! Enjoy busy Manhattan and then return to a nice, relaxing environment where you feel at home.

Walk through the Met at the end of the day, then go to the rooftop bar for a drink at dusk. You get a beautiful view of Central Park and the midtown skyline and it doesnt cost much at all.
The campus is a beautiful getaway from the city. Just sitting on the steps of Low Library with the college kids and professors is the most relaxing thing on a warm sunny day.
An other-worldly feel, as if youve stepped back into the 1400s and any moment you will come across a monk. In a peaceful park overlooking the Hudson River, it feels like its miles from NYC.

Somewhat of a morbid curiosity, but truly tranquil. Pure Savannah, with majestic old oak trees dripping with Spanish moss and picturesque marshes. Hauntingly lovely.
Do yourself a favor and see the cathedral. With those famous double spires and that huge pipe organ, it is a piece of art inside and out.

Great atmosphere, with many stalls selling snacks, drinks, cocktails. The street performers are an absolute joy to watch, and the sunset provides the perfect breathtaking backdrop.
There is perhaps no other drive like this anywhere in the world. Runs right above the ocean. We took our time, enjoyed the scenery, smelled the flowers and had a ball.
I came all the way from the U.K. to get married here, and I was not disappointed. Lovely white sand, beautiful blue-green sea and a marvelous view. Perfect for those special occasions.

A relatively reclusive spot, where you can enjoy a fountain, get a view of the Lake, a view of the city, and take a breath.
Both museums are at the University of Chicago and are off the beaten path, definitely worthwhile to visit and always free.
Wonderful! In addition to the famous Bean and waterspurting video fountain, dont miss the lovely peristyle and the snakelike bridge over Columbus Drive.

We were thrilled with The Bobcat Inn. Our room was decorated with painted furniture and handmade folk art, and the Big Dipper was framed in our bedroom window each night.

This little jewel downtown caters to locals and tourists who get lucky and stumble in. A great Southwestern-style bar and a menu of ridiculously cheap food.
Very good pizza, very good micro brews and the best priced meals in Santa Fe. The atmosphere is casual, and you can sit outside if its nice.

Santa Fes art district is definitely worth a visit. Its fun to just walk up the road and take photos of the beautiful buildings and interesting sculptures.
As it was hundreds of years ago, its a great place to meet and see people. Save some time to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Known not for its ambiance, but for its $6.99 steak special. Good food at a great price. Between the salad, potato and green beans, you wont leave here hungry.
Scallops the size of small muffins, caramelized, juicy and tender. We drank port for desert with the absolute best cheesecake. This is the real culinary jewel of the desert.
Food. Service. Atmosphere. You name it, Mon Ami Gabis got it. On the patio, you have a perfect view of the fountain show at the Bellagio.

No visit to Vegas is complete without a visit to old Fremont for the dazzling casino lights and the feel of the Rat Pack Era, but most of all the light show.
Fun, fast and so much going on at all times, especially at night. There are many free shows. Some favorites were the living statues at the Venetian and the Sirens show at Treasure Island.
I proposed here during one of the most romantic songs they play. Of course she said yes!

Its fun staying in a place as quirky as Napa Valley Railway Inn. But we were amazed when we got to the room beautiful! Nice little touches made the stay special.

They close the downtown section of Palm Canyon Drive every Thursday night and set up booths with all kinds food, flowers, art. It keeps cars off the main drag and gives the town a good community feel.
You can spend minutes or hours exploring the Thousand Palm Oasis at the Coachella Valley Preserve, a 20,000-acre sanctuary for endangered species.
Picnic in a lush, cool oasis. The park can always be counted on to provide plenty of tree shade, keeping people cool even when temperatures outside are soaring.

DO leave dry land: Experience the Chicago skyline from a river cruise. Enjoy a stroll or a bike ride along the magnificent lakefront.

DONT spend hordes of money. Browse museums and galleries, window shop on the Plaza, in the Guadaloupe district and along Canyon Road, or hike at the Randall Davey Audubon Center.
LAS VEGAS
DO leave the city. If youre looking to spend a day seeing some beauty, walking and just enjoying the romance of each other, spend the day at Red Rock Canyon. The scenery and ride is absolutely breathtaking.
NAPA VALLEY
DONT worry that off-season means missing the good stuff. Sure, you wont see grapes on the vines and you wont see wineries crushing grapes, but who can argue with more manageable crowds?
