DEECDsponsoredPDforterms3and42013 ThisDEECDendorsedcourserunsthroughoutTerms3and4andprovidesVictorianteacherswithaflexible professionaldevelopmentprogramshowcasinghowteachersfromaroundthestateareaddingvalueto teachingandlearningthrougheffectiveandseamlessuseofICTintheclassroom. Theprogramwillprovidepracticalexamplesofhowprimaryandsecondaryteachersareenhancingtheir curriculumdeliveryandstudentlearningthroughauthenticandeffectiveuseofICT,virtualcommunitiesand Web2.0tools.

TargetAudience
ThecourseassumesthatparticipantswillhavebasicICTskills,butistargetedatthosewantingtoenhance theirknowledge,skillsandcurriculumdelivery. Itwillberelevantto: PrimaryandSecondary(lowersecondary)teachers MiddleyearsteacherslookingforexamplesofeffectiveICTuseintheclassroom Specialists,LeadingTeachers,AssistantPrincipalsandPrincipals

CourseGoals
Thecourseaimstoprovideparticipantswith: apracticaloverviewofhowteachersareseamlesslyusingICTintheirteachingtoenhancestudentlearning abetterunderstandingofthetools,resources,learningcommunitiesandcollaborativepossibilitiesother teachersareexploringthroughICT clear,practicalexamplesofhowyoucouldusereadilyavailablesoftware,Web2.0toolsandlearning communitiestoaddvaluetoteachingandlearningatyourschool theopportunitytoparticipateininquirybasedlearningprojectslinkedtothecurriculumwithotherteachers fromaroundtheVictoria

Groupprojects,whichwillbeguidedbyexperiencededucatorsandaredesignedtoassistparticipantsandtheir schools.Participantswillbeencouragedtoengagelocalcolleagues,studentsandschoolcommunitieswiththe themesanddiscussionscoveredduringtheproject.

TheTeachingandLearninginthe21stCenturyprogramwillinclude:
OneinitialfacetofacesessionwithpresentationsandworkshopsatNMITinPrestonon26July,aswellas thepossibilityofonefinalfacetofacesessionatthesamevenueon29November. SixonehourwebconferencesthroughoutTerms3&4withleadingclassroompractitionerscoveringtopics thatinclude:theGeneralCapabilitiesintheAustralianCurriculum,ProfessionalLearningNetworks, CollaborationandInquiryBasedLearning. Instructorledprofessionaldevelopmentforteachersthatwillincludeonlineforums,toolsandWeb2.0 resourcesthatempowerlearning,collaborationandcommunicationforstudentsandteachers.Thesewill includeGlobal2,Fuse,GoogleAppsforEducation,MicrosoftOffice365forEducationandEvernote. AselfselectedInquirybasedlearningprojectwithateamofotherVictorianeducators.

SuccessfulapplicantstotheprogramwillparticipateinanopeningfacetofaceeventonFriday26Julyat NMIT(PrestonCampus)featuringinspiringspeakersfromVictorianschoolsincludingakeynoteaddressfrom internationallyrecognisedAustralianeducatorJennyLuca.
