VCE represents the next evolution of IT, one focused on the next generation data center and the future of cloud computing. VCE seeks to eliminate the challenges that consume todays data center resources. VCE designs and delivers Vblock Systems, which seamlessly integrate leading compute, network and storage technologies. Through intelligent discovery, awareness and automation, Vblock systems provide the highest levels of virtualization and application performance. Vblock systems are unique in their ability to be managed as a single entity with a common interface that provides customer choice. Flexible compute, storage, and virtualization management tools enable businesses to tailor Vblock systems management to their specific requirements. The Vblock Series 700 is an enterprise-class mission-critical system for the worlds most demanding workloads and service levels. It includes the industrys best director-class fabric switch, the most advanced fabric based blade server, and the most trusted storage platform. It is available in two models LX and MX. Each Vblock Series 700 system contains the following key hardware and software components:
Compute
Vblock Series 700 LX EMC Symmetrix VMAX 10K (Optional) EMC VNX VG2 Gateway or EMC VNX VG8 Gateway (Optional) EMC RecoverPoint Storage Vblock Series 700 MX EMC Symmetrix VMAX 20K (Optional) EMC VNX VG2 Gateway or EMC VNX VG8 Gateway (Optional) EMC RecoverPoint (Optional) EMC Symmetrix Data at Rest Encryption (DARE) Virtualization Management* VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter Server, VMware vSphere Cisco UCS Manager EMC Unisphere VMware vCenter Server
These components are integrated within one or more 19-inch 42U cabinets. Within the base configuration, the following hardware aspects can be customized:
