In 2008 the Chinese Milk Scandal became public. Melamine found in infant formula produced by Sanlu Group. Melamine chemical used in making plastics. Melamine boosts nitrogen content and causes milk to appear to be richer in protein. Fonterra partner of Sanlu blew the whistle .

CONCLUSION

In conclusion the deaths and hospitalization of the infants could have been minimized if Sanlu : Made the public aware immediately. Answered the initial questions and concerns of mothers whose infants were suddenly becoming ill.
