The Institute of Geospatial Science & Technology (INSTeG), UTM is hosting the 8th International Symposium on Digital Earth 2013 (ISDE 2013). The theme for the conference is Transforming Knowledge into Sustainable Practice. We are pleased to announce the extension of the abstract submission deadline to 31ST MARCH 2013 Authors have the option to have their papers undergo peer review. Accepted papers will be published in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES) indexed in Scopus, El Compendex, and Inspec. The papers will appear online within 4 to 6 weeks after nal manuscript submission. Best papers will then be selected for publication in the International Journal of Digital Earth (IJDE) Special Issue indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded with Impact Factor 1.083 (2011). The themes covered by 8th ISDE 2013 are (but not limited to): - Digital Earth Visions and Innovation - Earth Observation Technologies - ICT Technologies including spatial data infrastructures - Empowering the community, engaging society - Digital city and green cities - Digital heritage - Population growth and infrastructure development - Adapting to global and climate change

Land and water management Early warning, emergency management and national security Mining, energy and resources development Natural resource management and agriculture Health and biodiversity Marine and coastal environment Geospatial defence intelligence Sustainability
