For children, logs must be turned in by Noon to be invited to Thursdays Award Ceremonies and to be eligible for the end of summer drawings. Young adults may bring their reading cards with them to the Teen Summer Finale at 2 p.m. Readers in grades 6-12 will enjoy a pizza party and dessert extravaganza. During the feast, librarian Scott Freeman will preview buzzworthy young adult books and movies coming out in the fall. After the celebration, Freeman will draw two readers who will each win a Kindle Fire, then draw for several additional prizes. On Thursday, July 25, children will receive recognition for their summer reading at an invitation only Awards Ceremony. Ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. for readers with last names starting with A-L and at 1:30 p.m. for readers with last names beginning with M-Z. At the ceremonies, kids will meet and get photos with costume characters, receive reading certificates and enjoy an exclusive performance by 3 Point Karate. The event will end with drawings for prizes, including the grand mystery prize.
