Bioplastic Bowls
Waiter, there's styrene in my vegan corn chowder!
Styrene is a suspected human carcinogen and neurotoxin and is in every

polystyrene product. Styrene migration occurs when the styrene leaves the
polystyrene and actually enters the food that's being held in the container.
Styrene is fat soluble and stays in the body, so each exposure increases the total
amount of styrene hiding out in your customers.
And guess what? Hot liquids (like soup) increase the rate of migration. Styrene
may not look as bad as a fly in the soup, but it's just as unhealthy.

Biodegradable Bags
One of the greatest banes of our modern world is the ubiquitous
polyethylene, or plastic, bag. They're so popular that four out of every
five bags handed out at grocery stores are plastic. These little plastic
devils are rarely recycled and don't degrade in the natural environment,
much less in a landfill.
And don't even think about using paper bags! In many ways, paper bags
are even worse than plastic bags. Paper sacks generate much more CO2
in their production and 50 times more water pollutants than plastic
bags. It takes 91 percent less energy to recycle a pound of plastic than
it takes to recycle a pound of paper. And paper bags can't even be used
