Student Teaching, First Grade, Fairview Elementary, Reynolds School District; April 2006 – June 2006
• 10 weeks total, observe & taught for 3 weeks, & took full responsibility as the classroom teacher for 6 weeks
• Created 12 Reading lessons using the Oregon Standards for work sample portfolio
• Followed 15 Math lessons from the Bridges in Mathematics Farm Unit for work sample portfolio
• Created active and engaging lessons through out the rest of the day while using Oregon Standards
• Assessed and tracked students progress for the end of the year report cards
• Developed a positive relationship with students and other teachers
Practicum
• Woodland Elementary, Fourth Grade, 50 hours – Observed parent/teacher conference, TESA testing, and
helped administrate DIBELS
• Sweetbriar Elementary, Fifth Grade, 50 hours – Created and taught 5 Hands-On Science and Reading mini-
lessons about photosynthesis
• Troutdale Elementary, Kindergarten, 40 hours – Studied and implemented ESOL strategies to help improve a
non-English speakers learn letters of the English alphabet
• Troutdale Elementary, First Grade, 40 hours – Created and taught 5 Science and Reading mini-lessons about
penguins and observed parent/ teacher conferences
• Highland Elementary, Fifth Grade, 120 hours – Observed how to set-up a classroom and build a classroom
community, and attended 3 days of the TRIBES training classes
