Recent Project Highlights:


Coaching: Assisted in coaching responsibilities for Cross Country Team. Conference: Attended 2013 National Coaching Conference in Colorado Springs, CO. Race Officiating: Volunteered to officiate the Mountain Bike races for the 2013 Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Series. Trail Maintenance: Volunteered over 20 hours of trail maintenance for NIMBA and Southwestern Michigan Mountain bike trail systems. Was featured on ABC 57 news as the spokesperson for NIMBA, July 1, 2013. Remediation: Assisted in the development of an 8-Step Remediation process to increase test scores on standardized test at John Adams High School in South Bend, IN. Facilitated pre-test, organized student selection for remediation, participated in remediation teaching and proctoring of posttest. Student test scores increased by 35%. Curriculum Design: Facilitated committee in creation of Power Standards and created a curriculum for 10th graders at Benton Harbor High School. Editing: Edited chapters of a collaborative book about Wind Energy written by many authors throughout the world. The book will be coming out this year, and is being published by the Folkecenter for Renewable Energy in Ydby, Denmark. Utilized Microsoft Word. English as a Second Language: Worked with students from fourteen countries to learn the basics of the English language and also master state standards. In my editing experience, I was also working with writers whose first language was not English. Organization: Organized daily lesson plans to address the state standards and utilize a variety of different learning styles. Organized and implemented the lessons for four different subjects at a time. People Skills: Worked with high school students with a variety of cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Coordinated with parents, coteachers, administrators and team members. Successfully reached growth and learning goals for the team and classes.
