National News :

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched six artificial satellites and one Indo-French SARAL from Sriharikota spaceport using PSLV-C20 rockets. The six satellites were- SAPPHIRE, NEOSSAT, AAUSAT, BRITE, Uni-BRITE and STRand. Neiphiu Rio, Manik Sarkar, Dr. Mukul Sangma have been re-elected as the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya respectively.

International News :

Pope Benedict XVI has announced to resign as the religious head of the Catholic world. He became the first pope to do so in 600 years. Park Geun-hye has become the first woman President of South Korea. Iran and six countries-USA, UK, China, France, Russia and Germany have met two days of nuclear dialogue in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Xi Jinping has been selected as the new President of China. Ms. Chhurim Sherpa of Nepal has become the first-ever woman to scale Mount Everest twice in a single season. Rafael Correa has been re-elected as the President of Ecuador. A meteor has been dropped in Chelyabinsk, Russia. Parliament of Bangladesh has amended the war crimes law to allow the government to appeal against 1971 war crimes tribunals verdicts. The Gwadar Deep Sea Port has been handed over to Chaina by Pakistan. The first meeting of Russia-Aram League Forum was held in Moscow, Russia.

Sports News :

The Rest of India has won the Irani Cup cricket tournament. Nigeria won the Africa Cup of Nations football championship. The Ranchi Rhinos has won the Hockey India League. Horacio Zeballos of Argentina secured the ATP Chile Open tennis tournament. The International Olympic Committee has decided to remove the wrestling from 2020 Olympic events. ICC Womens World Cup 2013 has been clichd by Australia.
