Title:

Consciousness In Buddhism

Author : Cao Dayong

Who Am I?
One is physiological me. Other is psychological me.
There is a story. There are two men in here. A man say: I know what do you think about? The other man say: I do not know what do i think about? How can you know what do i think about?

Is The Gene Me?

The genetic code can decide our physiological body. But we can not look for the genetic code by ourself.

I Think Therefore I Am
The thinking can decide our ideal and can command our activity.
But we do not know who does the thinking? Who is doing the thinking?

Consciousness Need Not The Food

We need the living conditions. For example, we need food, clothes and house.
But consciousness need not the food.

Consciousness Does Not Get Old

Our life will born, old, ill, dead. It is not for long.
But consciousness does not get old.

When we are children, we can see the river. but when we get old, we can see the river too. Although our eyes get old, Our seeing is not old.

Seeing Is Not The Eye

When we ask a blind person what do you see? The person will tell us that I only see the dark view. So the blind person can see without the eye. Because consciousness can see.

Hearing Is Not The Sound

When we hear the ring of the bell, the hearing is not the sound of the bell.
When the sound is gone, we have the hearing too. Because consciousness can hear.

Can Not Hit Consciousness

We can not hit consciousness.
How many mass do we use to hit the consciousness? Have consciousness the mass?

How much energy do we use to hit the consciousness? Have consciousness the energy?

Consciousness Is Not Burrowed Into The Space-Time

How many space-time have consciousness?
Could we find consciousness in the spacetime?

Where is consciousness in?

What Has Consciousness

wisdom, foolishness.
True, false. love, hate. Good, bad.

Where Is Consciousness From?

Six Sense-organs. They are eye, ear, nose, tongue, body and mind.
Six Dusts/Signal. They are sight, sound, scent/smell, taste, tangibles/touch and dharma(law)/ information.

When they are interacting, consciousness will be in here.

What Is Consciousness?

How Can We Train The Consciousness?

Suma^dhi: Do not be in a turmoil. How can we go looking for our consciousness?

Prajn~a^ (buddhi, medha) : Do not lose our way. What is consciousness?

What Can I Do And How Can I Do It

What can (will) I do? For example, we need food, we can work, we can get the food.
How can (will) I do? For example, how can we use our function to work for getting the food?

Need Food More Than Life?

Why do we want to know who am i?
What do we want to know about how am i? We care for our life more than the food. But why can we not know our life more?

Suffering And Pleasure

Suffering, origination, cessation, path (duhkha, samudaya, nirodha, ma^rga). The Four Noble Truths.
The life has the suffering, the origination of the suffering of the life need be cessative.

Impermanence And Suffering

Skt. anitya; 'impermanence.' The fact that all things are impermanent is one of the basic premises of Buddhism. Everything is in constant motion and change. Lack of an eternal nature. One of the conditioned elements not concomitant with mind in Consciousness-only theory. In this case the term means 'disappearance.'

Tranquility And Pleasure

To become tranquil. quiet, peaceful, silent. The perfect stillness of the mind when the flames of affliction are extinguished. Returning to stillness, separated from all manifestations. Nirva^na, Buddhahood, enlightenment, realization of the truth.
The fake of I be cessative, real I will appear.

Albert Einstein Idea

If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism. -- Albert Einstein
