What Time is it?

Ezekiel 38:1-6 And the word of Yahuah came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, Thus saith the Lord Yahuah: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them thoroughly equipped, a great assemblage with targets and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia, Cush, and Phut with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah from the uttermost north, and all his bands; many peoples with thee.

Before this discussion proceeds, this writer would note the following: 1) Muslim Distribution indicates areas where significant Muslim populations exist - usually, but not always, the majority of the population in that area is Muslim. 2) The names of the Biblical countries (names in red) are located in the approximate areas of their existence. 3) While some of these lands are relatively easy to locate (either they refer to very specific geographical locations or their peoples have moved little in the past 2,500 years), others (such as Meshech, Rosh,

and Tubal as noted in the Assyrian and Judean annals) refer to nomadic tribes that have ranged over much of Eurasia during that same time period. As most readers probably already know, Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 have been subject to much interpretation since they were written. Unfortunately, most writers have tried to tie the description of the combatants to their own then current geopolitical environment. Therefore, various Biblical countries have been equated to later countries that are either now extinct (such as the U. S. S. R.) or that are poorly linked to their Biblical descriptions (such as Cush being Mesopotamia, now known as Iraq). Instead of trying to fit the facts to the situation it would be more productive to fit the situation to the facts. Fact 1: Gog is a person not a country. Fact 2: He is from the land of Magog but is also a prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. Fact 3: Magog ( Hebrew , Greek ) is the second of the seven sons of Japheth mentioned in the Table of Nations in Genesis 10. This may indicate that Ezekiel was referring to the land that decedents of Magog now inhabit. Please note that maps showing the Table of Nations are almost as varied as those showing the nations of Ezekiel 38 and 39! Since the lack of records spanning a period of almost 6,000 years does not permit researchers to definitively place the location of the land of Magog, or where descendents of Magog now reside, Magog remains a mystery for now. Consider the following: 1) ca. 4 B.C. - A.D. 1 = Yah Shua (Jesus) is born. 2) A.D. 70 = the second Temple is destroyed along with the only Jewish state. The Second Diaspora begins. 3) A.D. 132 - 135 = Bar Kokhba revolts against Rome. It took the Romans four years and the loss of an entire legion (the XXII) to destroy the rebels, but the Jewish losses were perhaps as great as those of the Holocaust some 1,810 years later. Yah Shua prophesied that the Temple would be destroyed. Seventy years after His birth it was. As a result, Jews under Rabbi Akiba ben Joseph (the founder of modern Judaism) and Simeon ben Kosiba (renamed Bar Kokhba by Akiba) rebelled against Rome trying to reestablish the Jewish state and to build a new temple. This resulted in the depopulation of Judea. Now, look at its near mirror image: 3) A.D. 1942 - 1945 = The Holocaust claims the lives of some six million Jews. As a direct result, 2) A.D. 1947 = the first Jewish state since the destruction of the second Temple is created and the second Diaspora ends. 1) A.D. 2017 = Yah Shua returns? The end-times, also known as Jacobs troubles, began with the refounding of the state of Israel. As with the Israelites first attempt to conquer the Holy Land, the modern Israeli state has failed to obey HaShems commands to drive out all non-believers. As a direct result, the Jewish state

now faces the very real prospect of being out numbered by non-believers in its own territory. In 1968 the population of non-Jews in Israel numbered in the hundreds of thousands. Today it numbers in the millions! Furthermore, world opinion has shifted dramatically during that time and Israel is now seen as an arrogant aggressor instead of a beleaguered victim. The time Elohim allotted for Israel to carry out His command has passed. And just as the Israelites had to pay for their failure to obey HaShem over 3,000 years ago, so must the modern Israeli state. Concurrent with the re-establishment of a Jewish state was the resurgence of Arab nationalism and Moslem fundamentalism. As Western Civilization declines and its hold on the rest of the world slips, it finds it increasingly difficult to impose its will on areas that it has become economically and geo-politically dependent upon. Too weak to militarily conquer the entire Middle East using Western Civilizations military arm (the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, also known as N. A. T. O.), the United States and the European Union are forced to use Julius Caesars divide and rule strategy and play any and all existing Arab and Moslem factions against each other in order to continue to assert their influence in that region. This is resulting in the West directly aiding many of its own avowed enemies with arms and money. The Wests decline is being matched by Chinas rise and Russias emergence as a great power. Both countries are chaffing at the restrictions imposed upon their ambitions by the West and its obvious attempts to encircle them militarily. As a result, rogue countries (some long isolated by the West) are now being accepted as allies by both China and Russia. At a time when the Wests resources are rapidly dwindling, it now has to greatly expand its presence in the rest of the world in order to counter Chinas and Russias swiftly growing influence. The scene is set for Ezekiels 38th and 39th chapters. Ezekiel 38:7-14 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself thou, and all thine assemblage that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them. After many days shalt thou be visited; at the end of years thou shalt come into the land brought back from the sword and gathered out of many peoples, upon the mountains of Israel which have been a perpetual waste: but it is brought forth out from the peoples, and they shall all of them be dwelling in safety. And thou shalt ascend, thou shalt come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many peoples with thee. Thus saith the Lord Yahuah: It shall even come to pass in that day that things shall come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought; and thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will come to them that are in quiet, that dwell in safety, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, to seize a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thy hand against the waste places that are now inhabited, and against a people gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the middle of the land. Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to seize a spoil? hast thou gathered thine assemblage to take a prey? to carry away silver

and gold, to take cattle and goods, to seize a great spoil? Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord Yahuah: In that day when my people Israel dwelleth in safety, shalt thou not know it? The scripture says cattle and goods, but then 2,500 years ago petroleum would hardly have been considered valuable spoil. In recent years, huge reserves of oil have been discovered off of the coasts of Israel and Syria. Chinas and Indias need for fossil fuels to power their growing economies is growing exponentially. Though Russia is self-sufficient in fossil fuels, it doesnt have enough to satisfy China and Indias demands and continue to supply the European Union as well. Despite new oil and gas discoveries in North America, the E. U. and the U. S. continue to depend upon Middle Eastern oil and gas to help fuel their own economies. Furthermore, they strive to keep as much of it as possible out of the hands of the Chinese to hinder that countrys development. Meanwhile, the traditional suppliers of oil and gas in the Middle East (such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait) have seen production levels decline significantly during the last two decades. Thus, ideological and religious factors aside, Israeli and Syrian territory has become significantly more valuable than it was just a few years ago because the spoil therein has increased dramatically. Enter the Arab Spring. Revolutionaries equipped, funded, and trained by agencies of the United States began actively destabilizing parts of the Middle East and North Africa February of 2011. Their goal was to establish new secular regimes that would be ideologically compatible with and subservient to the West. Capitalizing on local divisions, these revolutionaries used propaganda and tactics successfully developed over decades of civil disobedience and strife in other parts of the world. With direct help from N. A. T. O. when needed, they were wildly successful in destabilizing the entire region. However, the biggest beneficiaries of this new instability were not the secular liberals that the West hoped to install in power. Religion has long been dismissed by the West as impotent and largely irrelevant. Once powerful outspoken Christian countries, the West has gradually abandoned its religion and has relegated religion to the realm of mythology. Practitioners of Christianity in the West that havent embraced New Age beliefs and values have been consistently marginalized and reviled as intolerant unenlightened fossils of a long extinct era. Islam is not so progressive. Moslems take their religion quite seriously. Many Moslems take their religion so seriously that they feel it necessary to enforce Allahs laws themselves even if it means killing members of their own family. Though these Moslems are a distinct minority, with the abundant aid theyve received from the West to wreak havoc against the Wests other perceived enemies theyve succeeded in marginalizing the Wests true friends and dominating the Arab Spring. The West has been very successful at starting fires in this world, but it has consistently failed to control them! Moslems have always seen Israel as a Western intrusion in the world of Islam. The Holy Land was the focus of the crusades and Moslems see Israel as the result of just another Western crusade. To the Moslem, the Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews are Westerners! As any good general will tell you, The best defense in an offence! So Moslem leaders are quickly taking advantage of the declining Wests arrogance and ignorance to launch a religious offensive into the heart of the West itself! The whore (the U. S. and the E. U.) may be riding (dominating) the beast (Moslem countries), but not for very much longer!

Moslem jihadists from throughout the Moslem world are now seen in Syria fighting to overthrow Assads secularist government. The U. S., the E. U., and Israel itself are aiding the rebels in their attempt to do so. These same rebels are targeting the Wests and Israels natural allies (Christians, Jews, secularists, and Shia Moslems) in the region for extermination! Thousands of Sunni Moslem volunteers and N. A. T. O. special forces have already joined the fray on the rebels side. Thousands of Iranian and Russian forces have joined to prop up Assads regime. Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen are battlegrounds as well. China sits on the side-lines awaiting further developments. After the fiascos in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya, no one can afford to back down any longer. The stage is now set for World War III. Ezekiel 38:15-23 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the uttermost north, thou and many peoples with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great assemblage and a mighty army. And thou shalt come up against my people Israel as a cloud to cover the landit shall be at the end of days and I will bring thee against my land, that the nations may know me, when I shall be hallowed in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. Thus saith the Lord Yahuah: Art thou not he of whom I have spoken in old time through my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days, for many years, that I would bring thee against them? And it shall come to pass in that day, in the day when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord Yahuah, that my fury shall come up in my face; for in my jealousy, in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Verily in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; so that the fish of the sea, and the fowl of the heavens, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things which creep upon the earth, and all mankind that are upon the face of the earth shall shake at my presence; and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord Yahuah: every mans sword shall be against his brother. And I will enter into judgment with him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many peoples that are with him, overflowing rain and great hailstones, fire and brimstone. And I will magnify myself, and sanctify myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am Yahuah. In spite of current fashionable theories, nuclear weapons couldnt achieve the effects described in Ezekiel 38:15-23. Man, ever arrogant about his own abilities, assumes that these events shall be a direct result of his own actions. Just as many, if not most, people believe that climate change is a direct result of human activity; people want to believe that man shall directly execute his own doom. This view is an artifact of Western Civilizations removal of God from its version of physical reality. In this view, man is still directly in control of his own destiny. Hollywood has produced dozens of apocalyptic films very few of which feature nature alone, let alone God Himself, as the primary engine of mans destruction. Even in those films in which nature is mans destroyer, it is usually man that either inadvertently or purposely, and directly, triggers the events that unfold.

God has an infinite number of tools other than man to achieve His purposes! Thanks to space-based telescopes and advances in modern ground-based interferometers, the myth of celestial harmony has been exposed. Possibilities of a companion star with the Sun or rogue planets with highly elliptical orbits become probabilities. Everything from asteroids to massive x-class solar flares can destroy mankind in an instant. New asteroids are often discovered just after they pass very closely to the Earth! Earthquakes and volcanic activity can be caused by celestial events. As our knowledge of this planet itself expands, the fragility of our own existence on its surface becomes more apparent. Most of mankind shall be astonished when mans wars are suddenly and unexpectedly interrupted by cataclysmic happenings far beyond the reach of his meager influence! Ezekiel 39:1-8 And thou, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord Yahuah: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal; and I will turn thee back, and lead thee, and will cause thee to come up from the uttermost north, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel. And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the peoples that are with thee: I have given thee to be meat for the birds of prey of every wing, and to the beasts of the field. Thou shalt fall on the open field; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Yahuah. And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell at ease in the isles: and they shall know that I am Yahuah. And my holy name will I make known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not suffer my holy name to be profaned any more: and the nations shall know that I am Yahuah, the Holy One in Israel. Behold, it cometh, and shall be done, saith the Lord Yahuah. This is the day whereof I have spoken. And the nations shall know that I am Yahuah, the Holy One in Israel. I doubt seriously that many shall mistake the doom of Gogs army to be the result of Israels (or any one elses) armed forces. Though many, if not most, people may yet assume that mother nature, fortunately for Israel, misbehaved and derailed one mans best laid plans. Believers through out the world shall know exactly who is responsible for the carnage! Ezekiel 39:9-16 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall kindle fire, and burn weapons, and shields, and targets, bows, and arrows, and hand-staves, and spears: and they shall make fires with them seven years. And no wood shall be taken out of the field, neither cut down out of the forests; for they shall make fire with the weapons; and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and plunder those that plundered them, saith the Lord Yahuah. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there for burial in Israel, the valley of the passers-by to the east of the sea; and it shall stop the way of the passers-by; and there shall they bury Gog and all the multitude; and they shall call it, Valley of Hamon-Gog. And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying them, that they may cleanse the land; and all the people of the land shall

bury them; and it shall be to them for renown in the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord Yahuah. And they shall sever out men of continual employment to go through the land, who, with the passers-by, shall bury those that remain upon the face of the land, to cleanse it: at the end of seven months shall they make a search. And the passers-by shall pass through the land, and when any seeth a mans bone, he shall set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-Gog. And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land. After the destruction of Gogs forces there is no counter-attack by Israel and its allies. Nor do the nations allied against Israel resume their attack. Gods actions have stunned the world into inaction. Ezekiel 39:17-29 And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord Yahuah: Speak unto the birds of every wing, and to every beast of the field, Gather yourselves together and come, assemble yourselves on every side to my sacrifice which I sacrifice for you, a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, and of bullocks, all of them fatted beasts of Bashan. And ye shall eat fat till ye are full, and drink blood till ye are drunken, of my sacrifice which I sacrifice for you. And ye shall be filled at my table with horses and charioteers, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord Yahuah. And I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see my judgment which I have executed, and my hand which I have laid upon them. And the house of Israel shall know that I am Yahuah their God from that day and forward. And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they were unfaithful against me; and I hid my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies, so that they fell all of them by the sword. According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I did unto them, and I hid my face from them. Therefore, thus saith the Lord Yahuah: Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name: and they shall bear their confusion, and all their unfaithfulness in which they have acted unfaithfully against me, when they shall dwell safely in their land, and none shall make them afraid; when I have brought them again from the peoples, and gathered them out of their enemies lands, and am hallowed in them in the sight of many nations. And they shall know that I am Yahuah their God, in that I caused them to be led into captivity among the nations, and have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there. And I will not hide my face any more from them, for I shall have poured out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord Yahuah. At this point, Israel returns to the Holy Land and the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) returns to Israel. The scripture doesnt say by what mechanism God uses to return all Jews to Israel. Whether they are persecuted and are driven to Israel from the lands they inhabit or they come of their own free will (or a combination of both), all Jews shall return to Israel before the end. So what time is it now? Where are we on the prophetic time-line? We have wars and rumors of wars. And there are indeed many signs in the heavens. Prepare to meet your maker now!
