Title: Your people shall be volunteers.

Psalm 110:3-4
3

Your people shall be volunteers

In the day of Your power;
In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning,
You have the dew of Your youth.
The LORD has sworn
And will not relent,
You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.

110 3 4
.
.
.
The fundamental theme of todays Scriptures, Psalm 110:3-4, is Your people who shall be
volunteers in the day of Your Power, who are like the dew of Your youth.
Whenever I read or hear this Scripture I think of our because a few years
ago, we had a praise night and shouted out this Scripture bravely.
3
.

This Scripture is saying that there is an important characteristic in the lives of Gods
people and that is being volunteers as stated in verse 3.
Last week, we shared Gods grace with the title, proper service to God, and today I would
like to share Gods grace regarding being Gods volunteers.

.
If you look at your Bible where this Scripture is written, it says it is a Psalm of David.
!
. ,
. 110
110 1

Psalm of David!
This Psalm of David is one of Psalms recorded in the book of Psalm in the Old Testament,
however, it is the Word of God that prophesies about the time of the end.
In the time of the end, such saints of God, Gods people will be revealed. This Scripture is
prophesying this fact.
Then why Psalm Chapter 110 is the Word of God that indicates the time of the end even
though it is in the Old Testament?
First of all, in verse 1 of Psalm 110, it says,
1

The LORD said to my Lord,

Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.

,
.
Here, God is speaking to the Lord of David, namely, the Holy Son of God and He is
saying that Sit at My right hand, till I make your enemies Your footstool.

,
.
In other words, this Psalm is talking about the historic facts or prophetic facts that will be
revealed after Jesus cross and resurrection and after Jesus sits at the right hand of
Gods throne.

110 2

. ,
.
And next in verse 2 it says,
2

The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion.
Rule in the midst of Your enemies!

The meaning of this verse is that Christ rules over the world after He sits at the
right hand of God.
Before the mighty day of the Lord comes, Christ will rule over the world by the rod
of Gods strength, namely, the rod of judgment.
110 1 2
.
Like this, we can see that Psalm 110:1-2 is showing symbolically or prophetically the
second coming of Christ after Jesus Christs first coming.
110 5
5
Especially, if we look at verse 5, we can see that this psalm is talking about the second
coming of Christ and judgment.
In verse 5 it says,
5

The Lord is at Your right hand;

He shall execute kings in the day of His wrath.

, .
. .
Now, after governing the world, the Lord will judge and execute nations and kings. The
Lord will execute and judge in His wrath.

.

Even though this psalm was written thousands years ago, this psalm is Gods prophesy
through David and it is especially about the time of the end and Christs second coming.
, ,
.
In such days of the Lords power, on the day that the Lord will judge all nations, Gods
holy people shall come forth to the Lord, todays Scripture says.
.

.
Today, we often say that we are living in the days of the end.
A Canadian soldier broke into a house and he store womens under ware and dressed in
them and took photos of himself. As we hear such news from t.v. or newpaper, we say it
is the time of the end.
40 15
.
Also, in Korea, a woman teacher aged nearly 40 had a sexual intercourse with her 15 year
old student. We say it is the time of the end.

.
.
.
If so, then the Word of God in todays Scriptures is not irrelevant to us and we should not
overlook such Scriptures.
The reason being is because as it is written, we must become Gods volunteers in the
days of His power.
Also, I hope you most certainly partake in Gods holy work.
.
.
The Bible says such holy people becomes Gods own people first.
Your people means that we belong to God.

.
,
.
Secondly, the Bible says such holy people of God is Gods dew of youth.
Like the dew of early morning, Gods people always live a clean and holy life and they are
living with the youth of their faith regardless of their age.
110 4
.
In Psalm 110:4, it says,
You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.
6 20

In Hebrews 6:20,
where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest
forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
20

.
If Jesus became High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek, then that order
is what we must also follow after and that is Jesus spiritual world.

.
7 3 .
Only such people can come forth to the Lord as His volunteers in the days of His power in
the time of the end.
Regarding Melchizedek, Hebrews 7:3 says,
without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of
days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.
3

7 3

.
?
As it is written, Melchizedek is the biblical character who has neither beginning of days
nor end of life and who enlightens about the spiritual world.
Like this, in the time of the end, there will be days of Gods power and who are Gods
consecrated people who can come forth to the Lord?
, , ,
2 .
I would like to share with you today 2 conditions that we must meet in order to become
Gods holy people who are like the dew of youth and consecrated to come forth to God.
, ?
? .
First of all, what must we do in order to become Gods holy people who are like the dew of
Gods youth? What must we possess?
In todays Scripture it says, we must wear the beauties of holiness.
3

In verse 3 of todays Scriptures,
Your people shall be volunteers
In the day of Your power;
In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning,
You have the dew of Your youth.
.
. ?
.
Here, the Bible is teaching us that Gods people are dressed in the beauties of holiness.
Also, they are like the dew of Gods youth that comes from the womb of the morning.

Here, what does the dew of Your youth symbolize?

The dew of Your youth expresses the freshness of early morning and bright and brilliant
vigor of life.
,
.
This means that their faith, their life is always full of bright and brilliant vigor and they live
a holy life.
,
?
If so, then our saints of God, are you wearing the beauties of holiness as you worship
God and lead a life of faith?

.
Clothes are generally made for protection of our body and maintaining our body
temperature, however, in modern society, it is also used as a means to express ones
individuality or personality.
3
.
. !
However, in the Bible, the term garment has a more profound connotation which is
salvation and we can see this in Genesis Chapter 3.
In Genesis, mankind first got to wear clothes when Adam was put to shame because of
sin. Adam and Eve who disobeyed the Word of God!
,
, 3:7
. 3:10
.
From them, mankind got to know what sin is, and through sin, they got to know what
shame is through their eyes and they wanted to cover their shame so they made skirts out
of fig leaves and covered themselves. Genesis 3:7
Also, in Genesis 3:10 it says,

So he said, I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was
naked; and I hid myself.
10

So this shame grew to fear.

3 21
.
However, their shame could not be covered with fig leaves and in Genesis 3:21,
21
22

Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
Then

.
.

16 15
.
Like this, sinful mankind are naked beings in terms of spirituality. If we have sins and
transgressions then that is our shame and we can never cover them before God.
However, Gods people that will be revealed in the time of the end, they are the people
who are dressed in holiness and consequently such sins and transgressions are covered
for them and God does not see their shame and that is why they are blessed.
In Revelation 16:15,
Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his
garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.
15

.
This Scripture is the Word of warning right before the second coming of our Lord.
( )

.

And therefore, if the saints of God who live in the days of the end do not have garments
to cover their shame, then those saints of God are unrelated to the kingdom of heaven.
?
. .
If so, then what does the Scripture mean by this holy garments?
This means the salvation that we have received through Jesus Christ. It means the
righteousness we obtain through Jesus Christ.
, ! .
.
That salvation and righteousness, salvation by the righteousness! That is exactly the
garment of salvation that covers our transgression and sin. I hope you become the saints
of the livinghope church who wear such garment of salvation.
.
16:15 .
We ought to be watchful and keep this holy garment of salvation.
Revelation 16:15
Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his
garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.
15

, .

.
.
This Word of God means that we might lose this garment or this garment could be stolen
before we are aware of it is gone. With our bodily garments, we can cover our bodily
shames, however, the Bible is saying that if we are not watching and do not keep our
garments, we might lose such garments of salvation and show our shame to God.
And thus, the very basic requirement for Gods people in the days of the end is the
garment of salvation and the garment of righteousness.

61:10 .

Isaiah 61:10
10

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD,

My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

,
.
Like this, holy garment means the garments of salvation that we get to obtain through
believing in Jesus Christ, the state of salvation.
In Romans 13:14 it says,
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its
lusts.
14

13:14
.
? ?
If so, then I am asking you the saints of God who came before God this morning.
Are you wearing the holy garment right now?
, ,
.
. .
Although our carnal eyes cannot see this garment, I and you the saints of God, we must
have the firm belief that we are wearing this holy garment, the garments of salvation, the
robe of righteousness. If we are not wearing it, then we are naked before God right now.
Spritually.

? ?
?
My beloved saints of God, do you believe in Jesus Christ? Do you believe Him as your
Lord? Do you have confidence that all your sins are forgiven and you received salvation
through Jesus Christ?
? .
.
.
What is conviction of such faith? That is exactly the garments of salvation.
The moment we lose this conviction of such faith we lose this garment. That is why the
Bible is saying that we must always watch.
, , ,
,
.
My beloved saints, I want you to believe that if you confess Jesus as your Lord even
though you cannot see and if you have faith that gives thanks to such grace of salvation,
then in your life of faith and in your spiritual life, you are covered with the garments of
salvation. I hope you believe this.
.
. ,

.
However, this garment does not last until the end once you wear it.
If we do not keep it carefully, this garment easily gets dirty and become unholy.
Because there is a spiritual being that tries to make us fall always and this world is truly
sinful world so that if we do not watch and keep this garment, this garment gets dirty and
we cannot come forward to the Lord.

. .
The Bible is emphasizing that in order to become Gods volunteers who are like the dew
of youth in the days of the end, we must watch and keep this garment clean. Also, we
could lose this garment.

16 15

Revelation 16:15
Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his
garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.
15

. .
.
.
Here, it says Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments.
Once youve received the Lords grace, if you despise that grace and do not even pay
attention, then you lose your qualification to keep the garment. Didnt Jesus say Satan
and devils are trying to attack our life like hungry lions?
Secondly, this garment can get dirty.
.
Revelation 22:14
"Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree
of life and may go through the gates into the city.
14

22:14 .

. ?
.
The moment that we come forward to the Lord is the moment that we obtain power to
enter the city. Until that moment, we must do what? God is saying that we must keep
washing our robes regularly and not just keeping them.
, , .
More we idle and become lazy in faith, our spiritual garments, the garments of salvation
gets dirtier and dirtier.

.
.
.
Honestly, when we think that the clothes we are wearing is clean we dont pay attention to
wash it. However, cleanliness of garment doesnt last long.
Before we realize it, dirt is on our clothes and even color might fade away and change. It
is same for our holy garment.
, .
This is exactly the look of faith which the saints of God must possess in order to come
forward to our Lord, before the tree of life.
,
. ,
,
.
With our carnal eyes, we cannot distinguish whether our garments of salvation is on us or
whether this garment is clean or not, but with our conscience we can find out.
Like I told you earlier, if we have the heart that is thankful to Gods redemption and
salvation, the heart that is touched by such grace, then you can believe that as evidence
of having garments of salvation yet that garment can easily be weakened and get dirty in
this world.
22:14 .
Revelation 22:11 encourages repentance of mankind.
!
The holy garment which God put on us by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ!
,
.
I hope you never lose them and keep them clean and in order to keep them clean I want
you to become the saints of God who always live according to the Word of God and live
in the midst of the Word of God.
?

Lastly, what is the second condition we must meet in order to be able to come forward to
our Lord?
. . ?
Just like todays title, it is becoming Gods volunteers.
What is volunteering?
Psalm 110:3
3

Your people shall be volunteers

In the day of Your power;
In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning,
You have the dew of Your youth.

110 3

? .
Those who come to the tree of life must have something in their life of faith. What is that?
That is volunteering.
.
.
.
My beloved saints of God who came to this place this morning, to be honest, there are
many of you who had to wake up early and prepare for this service today. Right?
Even though there are some of you who have to take care some matters after or even go
to work after the service.
.
,
.
?
In fact, it is not easy to come and worship God on Sunday morning as we live a very busy
life. However, we must not lose this time to worship God and this life of faith that is why

we came this morning. It is truly a great thing. However, as we keep coming to church on
Sunday and keep living this life of faith, this lifestyle should become familiar with us, but
even now we feel tiresome time to time, right?

. .
.
.
This lifestyle is natural for believers, however, sometimes even this basic thing we have
hard time keeping and following.
You must not think this as volunteering. As a saint of God, it is very basic to keep the
Sabbath and if you think this basic thing is volunteering that is wrong.
However, when we fulfill our very basic duty as a believer sometimes we feel it is hard.
?
.
.
Especially if it is raining like today, you might think to yourself, My body aches because
of rain, should I skip church today since Im tired?
And on the other hand you think, No, I cannot do that as a saint of God. If I skip, then I
cannot receive grace of God and I might be unlucky for the whole week, I should go.
Then out of such fear you come to church with your heavy body.

,
.
In todays Scriptures, in the days of the end, there are Gods volunteers who cheerfully do
Gods work not like some of us who come to church unwillingly.

What is volunteering in Biblical sense?
. .
.
First of all, giving up ones will. It is not easy. It is very difficult. It is very hard to give up
ones will when we all have our own thoughts and opinions.

.
.
Secondly, it is to accept Gods will. It is easy to say we volunteer, but it is truly difficult to
live a life of a volunteer.

. .
? .
My own thoughts and my own life; we must give up all these and accept what God wants;
this is exactly the life of volunteering. It is never easy to achieve. However, in todays
Scripture, we must become Gods volunteers.
300 .
300 .
In the book of Judges, there were 300 brave men of Gideon and they saved the nation
Israel from their enemies. However, because of this these 300 men lived a very tiring and
harsh life.
Judges 8:4
When Gideon came to the Jordan, he and the three hundred men who were with
him crossed over, exhausted but still in pursuit.

My beloved saints of God! Life of faith is greatly tiring life, isnt it?
Sunday we must come to service and although our church doesnt have early morning
service, usually there are early morning services and Wednesday night service, Thursday
Bible study. We are very busy. Like this, learning the Word of God and do volunteer work
for God is truly tiresome. However, the three hundred men of Gideon fully obeyed the

Word of God and fulfilled their duty until the end even though they were exhausted. And
that is why Israel was saved from their enemies.
