About the Speakers: Dr Charles Ellinas is the Executive President of the Cyprus National Hydrocarbons Company (CNHC - ). Prior to that he was a Director of Mott MacDonald and the Managing Director of Mott MacDonalds Oil, Gas & Petrochemical business world-wide, with over 35 years experience in the sector. He was responsible for overall management and providing a focus for the Groups oil, gas and petrochemicals engineering and project management activities worldwide. This work won recognition through many major awards, the most recent being the Oshore Project of the Year Award at the December 2012 Oil & Gas Middle East Awards for the Zakum Water Injection project. Dr Symeon Kassianides is the founder, CEO and Chairman of the Hyperion Systems Engineering Group, a globally operating independent provider of consulting advisory services and systems engineering solutions to the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage, Power, Water, Steel and Aluminum industries. Dr Kassianides holds a PhD and DIC in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London (UK), a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) and has over 20 years of experience in project execution and management of technology in the process and manufacturing industries. Throughout his career, Dr Kassianides has served as Director on the governance Boards of several private companies and public organizations including the Cyprus Stock Exchange, JCC Payment Systems Ltd., as well as the University of Cyprus and the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation. Dr Richard Barnes is a chemical engineer who has worked for both operating companies and engineering contractors. Competences include eld development planning of new prospects, including economic analysis; concept development of projects in cold regions; project economic analysis; operational and safety reviews; training. His has lead or been on due diligence teams for a number of dierent projects. He holds an HNC in Chemical Engineering, a rst class honours in Applied Mathematics and a PhD on oshore eld development optimisation. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, a Chartered Engineer, Charted Scientist, Member of the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers, and Member of the Institute of Energy. He is also an external lecturer at University of Surrey and Frederick University.
