Housing construction is growing in Ukraine According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in August 2013 concrete pr oduction increased

d to 1.4 million tons, up 6.4%, year-on-year. In July 2013, the production of concrete was up 5.7%, year-on-year. In January-August 2013 the concrete production in Ukraine was up 2.2% to 8.3 mil lion tons year-on-year, whereas during the first seven months of 2013 it was up 1.1%. Experts say State Statistics Service data shows a recovery in construction, prim arily in residential construction. It is known that concrete is widely used for construction of foundations and bases.Concrete is also used for production of pre cast concrete products, as well as for cast-in-place construction. The growth of concrete production is directly related to increasing demand for c oncrete from construction companies. This is State Statistics Service data, acco rding to which the housing construction index in January-June 2013was 102.3%, yea r-on-year. In fact, the volume of construction in July 2013 increased 4.6%, year -on-year. The volume of completed housing construction in January-July 2013 was 5,083 mill ion UAH. Some 14,963 million UAH was capital investment in housing construction during the first half of 2013. Experts say that the positive dynamics of housing have been apparent since March 2013.Thus, in the first quarter of 2013, the housing construction index was 100. 1%,year-on-year, for four months - 100.9%, five months -101.8%, six months - 102. 3% and seven months - 102.7%. Analysts say the growth of housing construction is associated with both an incre ase in the real income of the population, and with the desire of investors to co mplete construction projects already under construction.
