SFX: Police Siren Maria is waiting for Tony on the rooftop of her tenement building, expecting to hear of his peaceful intervention. Chino appears with a bloody bruise on his cheek, visible when he steps into the light. Maria: What happened Chino? Are you hurt? Youre bruised? Hows Bernardo? And Tony is he alright? Now that she knows he killed her brother in retaliation, she decides to forgive him and to steadfastly stand by him - she is incapable of hating him. She urges: "Stay with me.
