This month I had 3 emergency cases I had encountered in my assigned Barangay. I had learned that being alert, prepared, presence of mind
and being knowledgeable is very important especially in case of emergency.

RNHeals IV PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED


1. Baby A, 4 year old patient and a daughter of Pantawid Pamilya member of Brgy. Cacandongan was rushed in the Rural Health Unit at around 4:30 pm last September 3, 2013 due to snake bite. The incident happened in their barangay near their house as she was walking in the street as claimed by her father. 1.

How problem were Resolved


Since we dont have anti-venom in our facility we brought immediately at Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital via ambulance for proper treatment and management. In the hospital, she was seen and examined by Dr. Sonny Urbano, and he told us that theres nothing to worry because there was no sign of venom poisoning. But still he advised the patient for admission for further observation. On my follow-up visit last September 5, 2013, I was informed that the patient was discharged from the hospital last September 4, 2013. The child has fully recovered and strong. I also advised the parents and the whole community of Brgy.Cacandongan to clean their surroundings, like cutting the grass and trim the trees. So that snakes will not exist.

2. Mrs. B. a 31 year old G3P2 patient from Sitio San Jose came in at natividad Birthing Clinic last September 4, 2013 at 3:30 pm with a chief complaint of labor pain and with bloody discharge noted. She was immediately place at D.R table and

2. She was seen nd examined by Dr. Felix C. Briones and he ordered to transfer the patient in the hospital. So we referred the patient at Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital (EPDH). In the Hospital Dra. Ro-Anne Pantoja admitted the patient. Last September 9, 2013, I made a follow up visit; the patient was discharge from the Hospital last September 6, 2013. I imparted Health Teachings such as : Continue breast fed the baby.

Patient C. a 19 year old G1P0, 7 month pregnant came at Rural Health Unit last September 10, 2013 at 4:15 am with a chief complaint of severe abdominal pain for more than 1 hr. she was examined by Dr. Felix C. Briones, some contraction was noted and the pain was becoming more severe. Fetal heart tone was not recognized and the patient has history of travel from Manila a day before she went to the RHU.

3. A referral Letter was made by Dr. Felix C. Briones and we brought the Patient immediately to the hospital. In the emergency room as we were waiting for the doctor, she suddenly gives birth to a dead baby boy. She was attended by the nurse and midwife on duty. After rendering nursing care to both, the mother and baby, Mrs. Marciana Agcalao and I talked to the patient even if we know that she was still grieving from the loss of her child. We advised her that she should be very careful in her next pregnancy.
